Nice working ideas from "Ultima Online" bards:
Peacemaking -> Makes hostiles "peaced" (will not attack the player in a certain time) time is scaled by skill level
Provocation -> Makes hostiles fight against each others
Discordance -> Drops hostiles stats

And of course, all kind boosts, buffs and protections etc etc as bards should do

Wild own unique idea (May fit on EUO:s wicked world :P) :

I feel like the only way they would be able to solo is to make the monsters attack each other but the issue still is the xp you get from a confused mob killing one of their one is little to possibly zero, correct? :?

I was referring to the provocation spell idea then asking about the xp rewards for confused mobs.

bards could have 4 song/stances and 4 utility songs

song/stances
these are played once and then apply permanently to party members within range, like a stance or aspect
if there were say 4 songs that were like party stances, and only one could be active at a time, what would those effects be, such that they were all equally useful?

possible effects (off top of head and reading posts here):
*xp gain song/stance
*more loot song/stance
*increased mr or dmg mitigation song/stance (like tank)
*increased rage and/or dmg song/stance (like beserk)

utility songs
*party heal
*mass confuse/charm
*steal or dispel enemy summon
*remove dubuffs such as hex, slow, para

sounds like a rough plan

I totally forgot about that blessed mace/mace mechanic. Good call on stealth being the opposite. :aus:

Multiple bard parties:
Do the effects stack?
Can different bard songs from each bard affect the party?

Maybe some party will form their own band to travel around. I think I’d consider CURIOUSGeorge becoming an euo Monkeyz member.

Utility spells: banish and confuse already exist, too samey with priest and mage spells. I like the idea of stealing enemy summons and mass charms though.

I still think it would be cool if you could do a lute solo at 100 rage. Depending on the song active a different effect happens.

How about skill "Total cacophony" aka "Dee Snider solo"
Damages all (not undeath) mobs near bard. (Tick on every few seconds)
To make this unique. The player cannot move when "Total cacophony" is played.

Good job everyone! The Bard is the class I'm most excited about.

I think that a buff to MR would be really nice to see. Rogues I found seemed to be lacking in the MR department. Fighters have huge health and bonus MR from heavy armour. Mages have high int so high MR.

Stealth kind of mitigated the lack of MR because we could use hit and run tactics (although that forced Rogues to use SS).
So I think if Bards do not get Stealth, which does make sense, they will be gimped without some kind of bonus to MR. At least till higher levels anyway.

Having some kind of "Oh Shit" button would be helpful, something like stealth/invis or aoe confuse or something since a full bard would be more front and center like a fighter.

We won't be able to use a shield since the instrument will take the offhand slot, so going multiclass fighter to get
block, would not work.

Reposte and parry possibly buffed for Bardfoil or whatever we call it?

Just thought of this now. If we don't get stealth, then there is no reason to stick with light armour, so technically we could use heavy armour to get the bonus MR.

Question: Can Bards use security?
