this thread is so that you all have a place to post your opinion of what dwarfs should be with out clogging up the rest of the forums with dwarf ideas thus far we have...

> +20% Axe Skill
> + % on Def
> + % on str.
> + % on hp
> Faster 2h weapons (my favorite so far)
> + 15% mining
> + % on MR
> + on pole arms :?
> tossing ingots as a weapon
> mining picks as a weapon (although you can already do this with the update i think)
> building a mine and having to defend it pops up along with dwarfs and should be noted
> giving every race there own crafting ability
> + 2 NV
> + on beard growing including women
> dwarfs need alcohol instead of food to get thru the day so instead of getting hungry they get thirsty(this would add farming to the game)
> dwarf fortress like mini game

what about some sort of ability like blessed weapons spell. it would convert an axe weapon into a soulbound pickaxe weapon. perhaps the ability at higher levels could bestow a bonus to the weapon of sorts. bonus damage vs golems or something on that line.

hmm ... well i named the thread dwarfs but i do think Dwarves looks better now that i am looking so my vote goes on dwarves for what its worth
all i want is a test server for maped then ill be happy ...

Definitely not IMHO.

Are we going by folklore or post Tolkien dwarves. I only read the Hobbit and the trilogy and skipped the other books. As far as I can remeber dwarves didn't cast magic but made wonderful products. If we went with ultima genre then Dwarves were strong but less agile.

I never could get why dwarves would be so great with an axe unless it had something to do with them cutting down trees to support their mines. I could agree on a special hammer class for them.

What's the cons of being a dwarf?

Dwarves -- should be same as staff->staves, being the weapon ingame and not faculty obviously. Snow white was 'dwarfs' but fuck that bitch!

cons to dwarves?

no dodge, no massive weapons? gnomes can't dual wield so thats a bit redundant -- or maybe -1 nv or something

Instead of +15% mining they should have higher chance to find ore vein(or ability or dig more ore from one vein than other races. They also should have some disadvantages, like -20% dex or something.
It's always funny until someone gets hurt. Then it's just hilarious.

i think a + def% is a good idea like 10-15% also faster 2h weapons no one has this yet and i think(hope) it would make some people make dwarfs instead of all the trolls running around

what if they just had a new weapon the Pick Axe(1h)/ sledge hammer(2h) ability causes bleeding and confusion? added as dwarven weapons instead of a spell to make dwarven weapons?

Always move slow is an awesome idea. -10-20% dex is another good one.

Dwarves are pretty good a locating so the sextant isn't a good idea nor is the penalty to night vision as they're used to dark and dismal areas. I wouldn't give em a bonus though.

I like the +15% mining. Maybe it could earn them the ability to find already tinted ore. Such as venomous and already treated blackrock at 115mining?

Faster 2h, +10% Def,+1/2 Nv, -10% Int, -10% Dex?
(Or maybe 150% Class Cap, -20% Dex, -20% Int...)

They can have Polearms as their weapons and have some ability like Behead (Insta-kill and causes confusion to non-beheadable monsters (due to heavy hit on the head? X-D ))

what about
+10-15% faster 2h weapons speed

+10% hp
-movement speed cant ride a horse :LAUGHING OUT LOUD LIKE A MORON:
- cant cross class
- 10% exp gain( thats just the exp form not being human they dont make a total of -20%)

maybe there own weapon class

its not taking away the attack speed or dex but only movement speed


being short with a beard sounds bad for walking in lava :knife: or rafting come to think of it.

let's break this down:
I said "walk speed"
maces was an example, no other weapon calls for such low dex when it was 100/0 str dex

why wouldnt you get 250 dex with maces??? that would be stupid if you didnt(unless max attack speed is now at 25 dex WOOT!!!) i was thinking the reduce would make you walk at 200 dex speed when you have 250 ( 250 is max walk BTW) the slow movement is a better - than - 20% dex

Some ideas:

- Dwarfs should not be able to take mage skills, but piety spells should have 10% more power
- Maybe property "Runic blood" that gives +2 to all weapons they use (For example Vampire +7 mace is counted as vampire +9 mace)
- Movement penalty makes playing annoying.. maybe not this.
- Maybe somekind bonus when they use wand of transferrence?
- +10% protection against magical damage

yes +mr is good and most definitely no penalty to movement!

btw - euo uses British English because we use british english in australia, and american english spelling seems like one big shortcut - so it's armour. re dwarfs vs dwarves, my australian dictionary doesn't note the spelling of the plural but for me it's dwarves for the noun plural and dwarfs for the verb
