Narration on what your working on would be nice. But if you just talk to yourself about whats going on would be cool. Otherwise it was neat seeing the possible changes pd weekly is gonna have. A small simple town with a endless dungeons seems a lot better then a mashed up random overworld. We aren't gonna need shrines or quests or anything outside so a town and a dungeon in it seems good. I liked the change of 40-1 to 5-1 bosses, though I doubt that is gonna stay. The dungeon maps looked nice and randomized. Is weekly PD gonna be levelup-get5 stats ? or are you going with the NG stat training ? Hope to see and HEAR more vids on weekly PD. Thanks

Level up 10 to stats in that mad dash to leader of the pack. This is a weekly run and not permanent. Stats function like ng. Really doubt you see too much pvp. We had to camp out and then it was still rare.

Are you overthinking the bosses for vaults a bit ? I watched the whole vid of your work and while I don't know coding it seems to be simpler to make it like this:
Map level made - 30% chance a vault portal is made
Vault has a boss in it that has the same monster code as the monsters that appear on that level.
i.e. if orcs goblins, slimes, and rats are the monsters that appear on that level, the vault spawns a boss with that same monster code just as a tougher/hero/epic boss monster ?
You would only need a vault boss for each monster code, Fred the imp code x2?? , George the orc code XXX.
Use the names of bosses that appear in mobnames ? Then add them into ear_bosses as they get killed ?
The chances to get the same vault boss would exist but 1/3 of a vault then a vault boss of a monster in that level.
Grabbing all the regular quest monsters and making up all your own one at a time seems a bit daunting.
I tried to follow all the table/sort/average strength by mr/int/hp but wouldn't a simple make it a normal level monster vault = hero/epic be easier to math ?
Maybe vault bosses drop 2 items/chests instead of one ? To make them worth killing ?
It was a good video, I liked the narration on what you were doing, learned somethings about lua too. Kepp making them !

well I like the vault bosses (as done in video)
* they are different from ladder guardians, which is kinda what you are describing
* they re-use some of the AI from vanilla euo (ie the init scripts), which to me is interesting
the thing I'm uneasy with programming live on twitch is everyone seeing how wacky and dirty it is - like that thing where I temp spawn all the vault bosses in town just so the game can rank them - I mean, that is kinda cool lateral thinking but it gets messy when it doesn't work, and I'm sure ppl are watching going 'WTF is he doing?'

I think I might know what happened to the un-appearing bosses. When you changed the coordinates of the spawn point to outside the town, did you pick numbers that are outside the max size/coordinatess that a vault can have ? Would that make it impossible for them to be spawned then ? As for programming on the fly, I think we all know what your doing is the rough draft that you clean up and debug and streamline later on. It was cool seeing you code it in however it ends up.

when server starts, it loads map 0 - then unloads it - so when I enter game the map has now loaded a 2nd time, and the 2nd time the bosses aren't spawned for sorting
so the mystery is now, why did I see them at all - either the map didn't unload or they were spawned twice - or something unreliable in the middle - but I'm happy enough now and my aspergers is not strong enough to make me want to figure out the new problem - it's irrelevant
