Not played EUO for 5 years?

Post by kusofthevalley »

It's nice to be back,

But for the life of me, I can't figure out how to sort out the screen resolution. I love the new MASSIVE play area, but all the text roundabout is tiny. Trying to read the chat box is quite difficult.

Am I, at the the tender age of 31 now too old to play this game? Or am I missing something?

Cheers,
Marcus

Yes, I feared that might be the reply.

Thanks for the wb Max, but I am either a total incompetent, or my computers parts are senile. After trying the f12 option, the (a) 800x600 setting has the biggest typeface, and yet the writing is still far too small for me to be able to read in the heat of battle.

I had problems like this on my 17" laptop. The custom screen resolution I ended up going with is 1024 x 600; it takes up my whole screen and keeps the font nice and big.

Good luck!

Er.

Sorry Egg, I checked back my old screenshots, and I think I've just been confused because I've played U5 more than this in the last 5 years...!

By the way, excellent work. I don't know if I've suddenly gained finger skills, but my fighter is a lot more fun to play than he was 5 years back, and his Sin'Vraal Sceptre seems to be far more effective than it was.

Thanks ever so much.

I think fighters have had a bit of love but could always do with more, considering how many spells & abilities every other class gets.

I'm in the same position as kuso. I've been away from the game for I don't even know how many years now. But today I return because I have a serious itch to play this kind of game and I remember all the fun I had.

However, just catching up with all the changes is the first step, and I think I've already hit a bit of trouble. It seems my old mage breaks the rule of class percentage. He is currently well past the 125% limit (but not quite the new human 200% limit) due to the split of restoration and magery. The problem here is I've never used the versatility shrine as it didn't exist, is that okay or should I go ahead and trim his skills down to meet the new restrictions?

welcome back!!11

4 options for you:
single class
1) lose your magery and become a priest - ie trim sorc & magery to 0
2) lose your priestlyness & become a mage - ie trim piety to 0
multiclass (human only)
3) level up up to 38 times, go to maoedir, get to the versatility shrine, and get your class cap to 200% and be a priest/mage
4) buy a respec certificate, and use /respec2 - which will strip off 38 levels allowing you to go to maeondir immediately

I'll just trimskill the fighter skills completely and drop piety to 25, it was orignally supposed to be a mage afterall. I can just work on the skill cap later and regain what I lost.
