There would be tonnes of space if people just lined up their houses properly instead of making the space in-between houses 9 blocks...

:( That's sad. My bank is always full and I needed to extra space so I was thinking in buying a house deed but then people told me all available space was occupied. Any prediction of when people will be able to construct their houses again?

There is this lot just west of my house that has not been touched since in-game money housing was added. Looks more like a barren lot than anything. Really uglies up the place :P

That's probably the 'road', I couldn't build a house on it.

I got one of those just south-west of mine, other than a large empty square piece of dirt, nothing more than a few rafts, fish, and a normal fishing rod, that has never been touched. Such a waste.

Dude - that's my holiday house!
Now you've guilted me into prettying it up.

I might have to evict people that claim the lot and don't use it

In other news there is only one lot in evandale and marrickville that is eviction worthy - might just have to make another empty trailer park

Maybe when you create it, you can place something visible on the ground that kinda directs people where to place homes?

Otherwise we'll just get another jumble of player houses.

Charge some time of in-game rent for the spaces that you cannot stack. Yehhh.... 1 every 2 weeks?

maybe this is a good idea maybe its a bad 1 just kinda spit balling maybe next free house area you make egg , maybe put the houses in there like in traders for example and just make it to where the person has to go step in the middle of the pre made house and claim it (with house deed) so it's theres that would optimize space vs how egg thinks they should be setup and it would help people messing up house lines.
Im a jerk i know it egg knows it , deal with it. Babycakes is my biffle

For what it's worth, I kinda like the chaos of the choose-your-own-spot in the trailer parks. It's more frontier-like. The only thing I can see that might make it a bit easier to contend with is giving players the ability to chop down and remove some of the trees that might get in the way of building a house in a spot. Maybe have successful tree removal based on strength and woodcrafting skill or something. Or pay a Trailer Park Tree Removal Service in gold (or maybe an adamantium coin) to remove the trees in question.

You sure about that?

I remember when I tried to set up my spot I had to find a completely clear spot; if there was one tree in the way it wouldn't allow me to create the plot. I originally tried to make my plot closer to the path and with every attempt there were between 1 and 3 trees that prevented it.
eggmceye wrote: HOW TO CLAIM YOUR PLOT
* buy a house deed scroll from a scribe (don't bother on weekly, & make sure you meet reqs and don't have a house on server already)
* go to the estate (Marrickville & Evandale on reg or Chester Hill & Dulwich on NG/PD too)
* stand in the middle of where you want the plot and read the scroll
* if there is enough clearance and nothing in the way you plot of land will be created

When you read the deed, it says you have to have a clear 8x8+3(on each side).

Perhaps bringing that down to 8x8+1 would help. I dont mind lookin out my kitchen window into someone's living room.

How about a house in your pocket. You use it and it opens a portal to take you to the wonderful land of housing... trailer parks then mansions. Would eliminate the need to take up map space etc...

Is it possible to change the position of the existent house locations so they are all exactly 3 squares away from each other? That would clear some space for new houses. I don't think the current house owners would get angry because their houses were moved a few blocks away. :D

Edit: About the trees not blocking the houses. Are you guys sure about that? I found a place inside Marrickville that has exactly 14x14 squares (house + surroundings) but the area has a lot of tress and it says I can't construct my house there because it has no space. The coordinates are 14'56" - 21'63".

Edit2: ROFL! I tried again by spamming the house deed scroll and I managed to build my house in those coordinates. I guess I was trying to read the scroll too near of the surrounding houses.

I like my house exactly where it is... for a trailer it can't get no better. :D
