What about a magic barrier spell that cuts the effectiveness/damage of all spells (healing spells included) in half. Could also be used on monsters would lower their ability to heal themselves temporarily, but lower you're ability to damage them magically.

so not for priests but i think fighter should have a taunt ability to take all agro. and the priests can sit back and heal them
all i want is a test server for maped then ill be happy ...

Been reading this and been thinking about druids. The ultima III had a concept that druids used and gained mana 2x as fast. I've been sick with some sort of flu this past week and haven't don't any testing.

Just logged onto alpha and noticed all my divinity spells are gone. :?

I was taking a look at my ultima collection CD on spells. They did something pretty irksome in ultima 7; added Frio to oppose Flam for spells. While a nice idea, kinda bugs me if we ever got elemental spells in euo. The shift c is excellent for binding spells. Sometimes i still like to cast spells the old way.

Anyway Spell ideas that i'll write the words out later when I'm in kansas and settled:
Create food (1 bread)
Draw Upon holy might (lie eu but for str)
Awaken (vs IZH and orange pot)
Free person (removes AEP)
Cure blindness (will be useful if perma blindness ever gets in)
Ranged cure poison, cure disease.
Cure All (removes all ailments)
Ranged Cure All
Mass Protection (circular Sanct on all allies)
Greater Mass Protection (circular Vas Sanct on all allies)
Create Barrier (creates a living wall with 1000hp +xxx per level) Wall has 0 movement and no attack. - directional (ranged seems pretty powerful.)
Dispel Magic (removes all magical spells on target - ranged)
Summon Healing Ward
Bless - Increases AS by 1 +xxx to a max of +5 - ranged single target
Prayer - circular spell as Bless - directional or small ranged

Some Mage buffs:
Haste (circular eu affecting allies)
Both Quest Spells: Test out IFH and maybe a cone of cold spell.

i'll think of something else in and out of ultima.

Detect item status(automatic after pick up) could be a great ability for priests. Maybe a perk at x% piety?

Can you explain that a little. They already have identify item. I still wish id and uncurse was menu driven or open up your inventory to select rather than drop based.

With detect item status priest would be able to determine if item is cursed just by picking it up, like in NetHack. I like that idea.
It's always funny until someone gets hurt. Then it's just hilarious.

I might add a str version of ex uus and some others. I wanted to patch priests within 12 hrs but can delay it.

I added a new feature whereby if you have detect traps cast, cursed items show as red in inv. I can mod it so that when you pick up items with that spell active they will have curses unhidden.

Re select from menu instead of drop on ground - that's been on the todo list for about 3 yrs but keep putting it off - I'll have a look at it today too tired.

Does that not work now? I can only make blessed mace +6, where as I was making enchanted items on Alpha. :/

Dunno? Can't have higher magical divine mace? When does priests hit the pd circuit? I'm in Kansas and still getting settled.

I already got soup up to 100 mage 100 priest. I personally really like the priest set up, i had my doubts and i'm sure it helps to have a 200% class cap but i feel like its a good addition.
Can someone buy me a res stone?

It's only +6, on alpha, I saw people with like, enchanted +(spell)s.

Blessed +6 is as high as I can go. Why can't I get higher?
