premium accounts - what would you pay $5 a month for?
A purely optional 'premium account' would entitle you to extra helpful stuff.
For example:
* an apartment ( like a 5x5 house)
* no merchant tokens required
* no res sickness? (will this fag up outside nordhaven)
* maybe extra hunting areas
any other ideas? I need the money!

Some ideas
1) No merchant token need.
2) Make KPY and KOP only for premium accounts.
3) Every 12 mont activated premium accounts get somekind gift?
(House addon or fun item)
4) Ability use and craft boat that can pass high sea.
5) @ to rise stats like in PD server in level up
6) Repairing tool (Can be used anywhere to repar weapons)

I don't like the custom global color idea. It would get a bit sickening watching the rainbow scroll by on the bottom of the screen.
Maybe:
-Bonus X% raise in skill cap
-Access to special dungeons
-X% increase in chance of a drop
-this goes along the lines of an idea mentioned before. You can give out monthly Uber items that dissappear after X amount of time.
-pay the university with real money
-Avatars and Name changes to people who appear in the storyline of the game, but do not exsist. (Lord Eggelton, The Avatar.)
-New in quests based on your character. (The NPCs mention you when you talk to them)
-X number of temp invincability(sp?) potions a month.
Just throwing some ideas out there...

I think anything giving you an advantage over non subscribers would be kinda lame. That's what I love about EUO, it's free. But if you start giving better weapons, faster xp, etc, with a montly subscription, I think it'd ruin that a bit. Make it so you'd have to either subscribe, or play a like KibJr on crack for it to be fair. Just my input.
All the cool custom shit is definitly a great idea. Housing, No merch coins, maybe name a weapon or two. Custon Avatar would also be worth it. Hell, for all that, I might consider paying LAUGHING OUT LOUD LIKE A MORON.

Not just the token idea, but how about merchant spot in nord?
In the little arena there or something....Definate advantage there.
The kpy/kop idea sounds like a good one.
Ability to use diamond picks for mining? Just last longer like dia weapons.
The cash $ for skills at uni idea sounds great.
Ability to have NV +6 items! The rogue's will pony up for this.
* I agree we shouldn't make it too much of an advantage so that newbs can't compete, but there SHOULD be a great incentive to support the game.

I've always loved the fact that EUO was free. But if we're going to start talking about this I guess I'll toss a few ideas in.
-New Hunting Areas
-No res sickness (I just have a bad feeling about this though)
Other ideas would probably go well, but you dont want to make prem's so much better than regulars. I personally think the two above would probably be enough incentive.

I'm not a fan of restricting things already accessible in game to players to only accessible to premium accounts.
Also, Egg said $5 a month, some of these ideas listed are one time perks, you pay $5 bucks and grab them, then stop paying a monthly fee? Sort of silly, unless Egg is willing to strip these players of these perks once they stop paying the monthly fee.
Ideas that work great so far imho for 5 bucks a month are:
*No merchant tokens
*Personal Appartment
*No res sickness
*Area content only accessible to premium accounts
*Avatar name shows up in a different preset color when seen in game world or speaking on channels, Maybe gold or something.
Some other ideas could be:
*Special moonwells only accessible by premium accounts that let you travel from city to city
*X% reduced wear and tear on weapons while the account is premium status
*x% lower mana cost on all spells while account is premium status
Also, while a player has premium account status, they can buy costly perks that would last even if they stop paying for premium access, possible ideas are:
*Ability to remort once past level 100, benefits could be 15 additional stat points in each stat, class % increased by 25% so cap would be 150% initially, Ability to wear items 10 levels higher then current level. 15% experience penalty. Player could pay this three times everytime they hit 100 thereby totaling 45 bonus stats, 200% class cap, wear items 30 levels higher then current level and have a 45% exp penalty.
*purchase a personal keep that player can design and would show up in world like a guild hall.
*5 or more unguilded premium members can create a new guild.
If I think of any others, I'll post em.

Errr....at the risk of sounding negative, an optional monthly fee doesn't appeal to me at all. Honestly part of it is that I just don't want to pay a monthly fee (Don't have any money), but I also don't like the idea of 'subscribers' having benifits over the other players. Maybe you could make a $5-$10 fee/account, and then it's free after that. That would also stop (or at least slow down) people making multiple accounts. Then you'd make some cash, and nobody would have any advantages. I wouldn't mind if you charged for current accounts either. Even making a required monthly fee seems like a better idea to me than an optional one. At least then there wouldn't be any advantages/disadvantages.

-Get a permanent food source (e.g. everlasting goblet from Serpent Isle)
-Some kind of 24 hour access to the bank. If this is a good idea, would need to think about details of implementation (e.g., would it be access to a single special banker in one town, or would you be able to use all existing bankers? maybe ATMs in all towns? )
-Straight up bonus to a skill of your choice (possibly excluding enchanting). Bonus for 1 char/account, and you get the bonus once a month. You'd get credit for maybe 1000 items crafted. That'd let you raise a skill from 0 to about 30, or from 95 to 96. At that rate, it'd take 25 months to GM a skill, and would save a few hours of work each month. I don't think that would be too unbalancing.
EDIT: now that I think about this, it's basically the same idea as having the university take real money, just with a monthly cap on how much real money you can use, and no upper limit on skill training.

ok what I like sofar for a $5 prem account:
* no res sickness (will have to make outside towns gankfree areas)
* no merch tokens
* an apartment
* 24hr banking
* kop/kpy is ok but no advantage for mages who already have it - so maybe moongates for fast intertown travel
what I don't like:
* anything that gives fast xp or skills or progression
* uber items
* making any part of the current game worse for ppl who don't want to pay - the idea is to buy perks
also if you stop paying you lose the perks.
