Does the old 3d engine still work? It was a nifty thing to toy with.

Re: FAQ/QUESTIONS/OTHER STUFF
you could try connecting it to a home server (eg eftv or whatever old offline euo hack is floating around) and seeKeighn wrote:Does the old 3d engine still work? It was a nifty thing to toy with.
but every couple of years the client (the exe you run) becomes incompatible with the server & would be hard for anyone to pair up the last known moagl and a server and have them work.
I did recently (like couple of years ago?) start getting moagl running again but gave up - it's a lot of work keeping it going.

Re: FAQ/QUESTIONS/OTHER STUFF
My old offline euo dev doesn't work (I probably borked it accidentally since my old computer fried). I'll try the eftv.

Re: FAQ/QUESTIONS/OTHER STUFF
The last proper build of moagl was may 2010, according to zip file dates.
In 2015 I started trying to get it working again, moagl, and stopped for some reason (bored, too hard, etc?). I had it working with eftv but there is some busted stuff, like can't hit space to change level.
I'm sort of interested now. Might try and get it built again and see how far it can go.

Re: FAQ/QUESTIONS/OTHER STUFF
Is there a reason staves on ng and weekly is a class skill when it isn't on other servers? Seems like it'd be a good utilitarian weapon for those who just run out of points and want a weapon that will at least do some damage if they use up skills on say spells instead. I always figured the staff as a peasant tool weapon (since sticks and clubs are maces).

Re: FAQ/QUESTIONS/OTHER STUFF
In the haunted forest I swore there was a ghost NPC who gave some sort of clues about the trees for the ethereal dimension. I can't place if I have an old screenie somewhere or not. Figure if there are old files egg would have it.
Found an old blog with reference to the screenshot i can't find:
Merik Quest
A quest given by Merik in Mon-ferrato .
Inside Xile's underground castle
Kill Xile in Xile's Prison and bring gem back.
You need a key to enter Prison.
Ask your assistant about the key.
The key is in the Haunted forest . Listen to the ghosts there and find the key.
deamon has the key. Speaking of key, it will give you a quick pass, so use it to go to Xile.
The reward is silver chainmail of deffence + 3.
keyword:
quest
heart
gem
dungeon
And here:
Dungeon in the forest
In the Theresa quest, you will find it difficult to find the key that the assistant lost.
Constitution
Haunted forest
Ethereal dimension
monster
snake
slime
skeleton mage, zombie, ghoul, ghost, vampire
Remarks
It is difficult to find because the entrance is completely assimilated with the background.
person
Blackheath
Xanophear

Re: FAQ/QUESTIONS/OTHER STUFF
For some reason he's missing on NG, PD, reg, and alpha (which is all servers I guess). I don't know why he's missing but dwarf vision can't see him, white potions can't see him and starting quest and talking to Merick and Teil doesn't activate him to appear. He's "ghosted" away for some reason. Might have to see why he's missing. Stuff happens I guess so who knows over the years. Figures I'd notice this. I really do play too much of this.

Re: FAQ/QUESTIONS/OTHER STUFF
have you edited your png files to not show the ghost?

Re: FAQ/QUESTIONS/OTHER STUFF
Monster ghosts appear. He just doesn't for me for some reason. I'll patch up and recheck.
Nothing. I could reinstall and check or just do another fresh install. Patching got rid of my custom 32x32 set. Going from 32 to 16 via menu also doesn't show him. I'm a tad baffled here. Anyone else finding him or not finding him?

I'm glad I'm not going crazy. That'd be the third confirmation.

Re: FAQ/QUESTIONS/OTHER STUFF
I can confirm this, too. I did the quest recently with my getting-back-into-the-game-after-four-years newbie toon, and I only found the way by starting in the corner and walking onto every square I could. I eventually hit something that teleported me to another area.Keighn wrote:I'm glad I'm not going crazy. That'd be the third confirmation.
Also, since this is the "questions and other stuff" section, is there some reason people keep blocking the entrance to the Shrine of Honesty and going AFK? Right now the only way I can get in is through the Blue stone, and then I have to town portal away from inside the shrine.

Re: FAQ/QUESTIONS/OTHER STUFF
maybe anyone afk in a pvp zone should be gankable (or maybe just hitting them bounces them out of the way)
Re: FAQ/QUESTIONS/OTHER STUFF
I figured out blackheath - it's because the map is loading as an instance and npc's don't load in instances

Re: FAQ/QUESTIONS/OTHER STUFF
Is that also why the mobs weren't respawning? If so, then in future that could clue us in if something similar happens again.eggmceye wrote:I figured out blackheath - it's because the map is loading as an instance and npc's don't load in instances
