Affordable Gear Guide by 1 (all levels)

Post by 1 »

Gear is a major part of any build in EUO. If a new player looks through the armoury, they might be overwhelmed by the tinted artifacts, enchantments and +9 weapons. Someone may think that this gear is mandatory for levels 80+ even though there is no concrete way to obtain these items. This is not true, there is common gear that works almost as well and is way easier to obtain. Please let me know if you have any creative criticism or have anything to contribute.

Where to Start (levels 1 to 30ish)
-If you want to focus on getting decent gear right off newbie island, I'd suggest starting crafting as soon as possible.
-Also if you'd like to join a clan, clan members will usually give good gear to low level players for free; but do not beg for these items, always offer something.
-Try not to rely on vampyric weapons, get your HP from potions or heal self; vampyric weapons cannot be crafted.
-If your weapon is metal then start smithing and make yourself a copper version of your weapon; if your weapon is wood then start woodcrafting and make an oak version.
-If you are a fighter or priest use armorsmithing to make yourself a full set of heavy armor; if you're a rogue make yourself a full set of light armor; monks and mages don't have to worry about armor so much right now, just wear defense magic gear if you find it.
-Go to a place like Cassandra's Tower and unequip your weapon, press shift u and use your weapon on a fountain; this gives it a chance to be enhanced once to +1, +2, or +3.
-Use the merchant search on Euotopia's main site to search for defense gear (if you're a rogue you will also need at least 4 nightvision, a priest and mage should have at least 12 vigour).
-Also use the /t trade channel to annouce what you want to buy.

Mid game (levels 30ish to 70ish)
-Defense gear will get you through the first 30 or 40 levels but you'll want to switch to Magic Resistance if you want to fight heroic imps, regular daemons, and regular dragons.
-Magic Resistance +3 can be worn at level 27 and MR +4 can be worn at level at level 64; defense is good against golems and shadow warriors and MR is good against magic users.
-A copper/oak +5 weapon is craftable so you shouldn't have problems obtaining one at level 61.
-A tinted +6 weapon at level 75 can easily be purchased by another player or even bartertown, look for Vampyric/Barbed/Adamantium/Blackrock/Copper.
-Rogues should have on 2 pieces of nightvision +3 on at level 27 and one piece of NV +4 on at level 64 (2 pieces if you really need it).
-Magic users should try to get a vigour +12 from bartertown or the trade channel at level 38, mages may need more vigour but priests and monks should be good with one piece.
-The only really useful sigils are attack strength, so use them if you find or get them!
-A priest should get the divine hammer spell as quickly as possible, this will enchant a weapon up to +6 but also make it soulbound (barbed and adamantium are the best tints for this).

End game (levels 80+)
-At level 80, you can party with any other player above level 80 and you should take advantage of this; there are many high level players that like helping players level so if you get an invite to Bloodmoor then you should go (you might get a +9 weapon from the blood queen, which you'll need).
-Dragonscale boots are good if you plan on hunting in Blood Moor, you can use a WoT/GWoT to make these into vigour +12, NV +4, or MR +3; the DS boots can be fished up in lava that's in a dungeon with an adamantium fishing rod (Xile's has lava through the secret wall, left after entering the dungeon).
-Do all the guard quests since the NPC Jarholm in Cammerata rewards a soul bound Wand of Transference (WoT), you can use this to make Dragonscale boots MR +3, NV +4, or Vigour +12 or you can use it to make a +8 Attack weapon, rune, or sigil.
-All of your gear slots besides the ones needed for vigour or nightvision should be used for Magic Resistance +4 (these are plentiful and can be purchased on the trade channel for cheap).
-Consider buying some greater wands of transference (GWoT) from the adamantium coin shop, you'll be donating to the game and also helping yourself get some good gear.
-Go on hunts to kill the blood queen or try to get some +9 weapons from other players, with these and GWoT/WoTs you can make yourself a +8 copper/blackrock weapon, +8 AS rune (if you use a one handed weapon), and three +8 AS sigils.
-High level players will most likely accept gold for MR +4 gear but they will probably want WoTs/maps/addy fishing rods/artifacts for +9 weapons.
