while you're editing maps, can you boost the exp in sylvengard tower, and drop the spawn rate a bit? when I hunt there it seems that it's always chock full to the brim with monsters)

I'm averaging 25fps now, before the mouse patch i was getting much greater amounts(around 80-100fps).

*note : only mentioning it now because other people are mentioning it.

Did you put a frame-limiter in?
Because I don't get any drop in fps when the screen gets busy..
