Re: Stat Reduction: Ditch it or Keep it
I'm in a foul mood, so I'll understand if I get banned. maybe its about time EUO was put out to pasture, can't see how you'll move on to other things if you are sustaining this pack of ungrateful whiners. There's an enormous amount of really good content in EUO and many many hours of effort from a l...

Re: Help Bring the Manual Up-To-Date!
rolls his fucking eyes...
no, you don't need the original if you're fine with editing the .png
but if you're familiar with visio or other vector drawing tools it makes things a damn sight simpler to move, re-colour and edit the shapes and text.

Diminishing Returns
Although I'm a big fan of NG I still think there is significant merit in a level progression system, so I want to work through some ideas that allow the level system to be retained, allows players to level grind with slowly diminishing benefit but which doesn't smack them with a "glass ceiling&...

As far as I am aware, boss monsters (and their loot) are a random spawn. They were once highlighted, like diablo bosses, but this encouraged easy identification and farming and so they now appear just like every other mob. This makes boss monsters a nice surprise when you find them, but nerfs the id...

I have the math for how WoW does its melee, missile and spell combat. It allows for all the usual tricks like parry, dodge, criticals, while also allowing damage mitigation from armor. A little teaser on melee combat, lifted from WoWWiki , which while being unofficial, appears to be accurate: One ro...

Yeah... I have no idea how to animate them Extell's FAQ on avatar creation is not explicit on this, but the way avatars are animated in-game is simply by having four different versions of the tile in a row. Have a look at the btiles23.pcx file in the \pics directory of your EUO install and you'll g...
