Re: Ideas thread 2013
I was thinking more along the lines of players having to decide when to use the perks and when to deactivate them in order to farm more gold, but still, you have a valid point.

Re: Ideas thread 2013
Let's talk about gold sinks. I know that this is everyone's least favorite thing to think about, and it'd doubtful that anyone even gives a shit about the gold economy anymore, but here goes. First, reduce gold drops. Too high, it's ridiculous. Now, onto the big idea. GREED PERKS When people talk a...

Windows 8 won't let my buddy play
He's using a fresh download, so I doubt any files are missing. Whenever running not as administrator and not in compatibility mode, he gets an error message "error setting graphics mode" and "overlay not supported", after which it just doesn't load the client. When running as adm...

Re: misc updates thread
Probably my favorite update ever this time, egg. Multiclassing sounds cool now! Abt the higher mana costs without a staff equipped: If casting without a staff turns out to be too inefficient to bother with, have rage act as a backup mana pool (with mage spells requiring a minimum amount of "blu...

Best idea I've heard in awhile.Thane wrote:Heres a thought, how about have Tailoring be able to craft BAGS to help sort inventories ? Like special bag to hold potions and one for ingredients and eventually magic bags that help reduce some weight and can be named for specific storing purposes ?

Re: misc updates thread
First thing I did was added a 1.mp3 for dungeons. I left 0.mp3 unchanged, but 1.mp3 would play for dungeons, continents, and towns.
Then, I added a 2.mp3, and here's what happens:
Continent plays 2.mp3, dungeon plays 1.mp3, town plays 2.mp3.

Re: Ideas thread 2012
Body/Mind/Soul sigils that effect spells or weapon types maybe ? Also will Mithril weapons ever be on the table for Dwarves ? I wish Dwarves had some kind of bonus with Axes/Hammers but a penalty in things like polearms and such. The whole 'stat bonus for drinks' is kind of pointless since it gives...

Re: Recomended Music
Nah, but now that you say this, I realize I've gone far too long without music in EUO.
You could download a midi converter and change the format of your favorite songs to midi. That's what I'ma do.

Re: My perma death adventure! Need tips!
Boss dropped chests aren't any less dangerous than normal ones. Always make sure you're at full health when attempting to open a chest if you're not sure of trapped status (I believe that PD chests won't hit you for more than your maximum hp, but I'm not sure).

Re: retiring level 1000 pd characters
Yeah, I can't argue with that. Like I said, just my opinion, but then again I'm by no means a hardcore PD guy. If anything all I ever do is get to level 50, get too confident and become daemon rape, and rage quit for a year.

Re: retiring level 1000 pd characters
Most of the people that play PD this hardcore do so because they prefer it over reg server. Giving them a free reg character, even if it is up to level 150, seems kinda pointless. They'd probably just play it for a few days, get bored, and start grinding a new character on PD. Still, gotta give em ...

Keeping the Manual Up to Date - 2013
I have too much free time on my hands, so I decided that I'd do some work with the manual (helping is productive!) So far, I've done: In-Depth Monk Guide I'm calling out to anyone who cares about the game! Help keep the manual up to date! If you know of any part of the manual that's too vague, is mi...

Oh, I assumed that because it wasn't automatically turned on when I created a new character it wasn't the default setting. I get dumb sometimes.

Re: misc updates thread
You should set smooth scrolling to be turned on by default, since it looks better according to popular opinion. If someone doesn't like it, they can just go switch it off, but smooth scrolling turned on by default means that newbies are more visually attracted to the game at the get go.

Re: Doin' stuff, manual stuff
Yeah, I wrote a more in-depth monk guide abt a week ago that's up there now, I've been looking through there during boredom spells and thinking about what needs work. The dungeons page is just one of the vaguest ones in the manual I've seen so far. But I'll go ahead and get on that then.

Doin' stuff, manual stuff
I was wondering if I could get an ok to update some stuff on the manual. I know that usually I could just go in and do this myself in most cases, but I didn't know if this info was supposed to be made public (kinda like the no quest help on global rule) I was wondering if I could update the dungeon ...
