Stygian Fishing Charter

Post by ChrisCooper »

For a limited time...

The Stygian Fishing Charter

Is running from 8pm to 10pm EST every Friday night.

Why use the charter?

At 8pm EST every Friday night, the charter sets sail with it's passengers aboard it and drops anchor far out in the high seas, away from the dangers of the continent (such as pesky monsters, player killers, and DM events). Once here, you can:

Fish in safety! - The captain will remain active from 6pm to 8pm, ready to fire the cannons at whatever threat may show it's face. Also, there will be others aboard the charter. Safety in numbers!

Kill boredom! - Instead of fishing by yourself, you'll be fishing with a large party of players aboard the ship to keep you company! When raising a skill, you should be having a good time, not being forced to go do something else while your skill raises!

All in all, it's just meant to be a fun diversion for players currently raising their fishing skill. So, come give it a try. I'll see how well it goes the first few nights, and that will determine whether or not I keep running it after that.

Prices:

SPT Members: 100gp
Others: 500gp

The Stygian Fishing Charter wants your maps!

Once the Charter docks at the Nordhaven Lighthouse, you may sell whatever maps you may have found while fishing to the captain. The going rates are:

Level 0-9 maps: 200 each
Level 15 maps: 5000 each

That's pretty cool. Multiple people fishing on a vessel with cannons. Hmmm, I'm going to have to figure out the timezones which ain't hard. Hey Vanny, I don't suppose you could put the time up for each timezone on the planet?

Well guys, the first run of the Charter started out great. Destroyer, vimly, Sync, 1, and Turtle all participated.

After we'd set sail, we got in a good 30 or so minutes of safe fishing. But little did we know that one of the most truly terrifying sights we'd ever bare witness to awaited us in the high seas...

A giant squid, four times larger than the ship itself, forced the ship to flee. But once we hit shore, we gathered the bravest of warriors in New Sosaria to aid us in fighting the beast!

In the end, the fight was one that the charter could not win. It was forced to retreat, but the brave warriors who stayed to fight managed to finish the Kraken off.

So all in all, the charter's first voyage was one filled with adventure! We hope that every trip is as eventul as this one!

ATTENTION!

The Charter is back in business, but for the time being is not sponsored by the Stygian Pirate Trade.

It is now. It wasn't when I posted that last message, though.
