new user questions and feedback

Post by kyloth »

Dear Mr.Egg

I am kyloth, i was introduced to EUO by a friend of mine here in iowa, and i am in absolute love with this game. after many failures i finally broke down and made a character on the regular server, however i love the PD and i WILL get an adamant res stone. ive been welcomed happily by the community, particularly my compliments to vandermast for making my time on euo very enjoyable. i wanted to create this thread to give you some info on my opinions of euo and new user feed back. first of all, awesome game, thank you for making it entirely free to play and i hope it never becomes a pay to win game, so many good games became crappy because of pay to win capabilities. secondly i would like to say, i was somewhat dissapointed that im almost forced to play a human if i want to effectively cross class and as a new user if i made any requests, it would be that atleast one or two other races will be able to remort above 100% instead of just humans (trolls are my fav class for duel wield and hp regen). third thing. it is incredibly hard to get to a shrine to level up at lv 1 without an escort, and my second request would be a shrine that offers no buffs when leveling but is available near the first town or possibly even inside of cassandra's tower. if its inside the tower it would keep some of the challenge but allow newbs (not noobs) a better chance to get to lv 2 without fighting their own ghost multiple times. it can be daunting to new players to not be able to level up easily. the fourth and last thing i want to say is this. you might want to fix the bug that allows wizards to blink through locked doors and into houses. not really in dungeons or elsewhere but just houses should be blinkproof for the sake of keeping magic burglars away. other than that i dont have much to say and only a couple questions to ask. question number one, is there a way to play euo offline? can i just install it without internet and play it on my WinXP computer that has no modem or wifi card. question two. if there is a way to play offline is there a way to play on a LAN network (i have 3 XP pc's without internet on a lan for gaming with my step children and wife) i would truly love to be able to LAN this game with my family. please help me learn how to offline and lan this. anyway, thats about it in its entirety. great game, love it!!!! my compliments to the chef! oh wait one more quick question, any chance you will be releasing controller/usb gamepad support packs because joytokey.exe is kinda glitchy and hard to get to run with an xbox 360 controller, and this game would be awesome if i could map keys to my controller. have you considered submitting this game to xbox or playstation and getting it mass produced, maybe by bethesda or bioware or microsoft??? you could make some real money and get it out there to alot of old school gamers looking for a taste of the 90's. whatever im rambling now. great game, best ive seen in years, good night egg!. sincerely Laesidia Zire Kyloth

Kewl beans man. Vandermast in one of my many alts. It so awesome for the thanks. I thank thee in return. I'm on a lot more so I can help people out. Don't be too discouraged by PD or any of the servers. Back in the day a new player would get 3 res stones. I still died many times and had to remake alts. Once you get the feel you can do quite well. I congratulate you as I believe you wanted to play through without donations to gear or power levelling. That's the true heart of a PD player. Another thing is getting some of your friends to play with you. There is nothing I find more inspirational than a fresh party team of new players forging a new adventure (esp where death is real).

Still, a fresh group of epic play can easily be found on reg server as if a party guy dies he's back in the game fast. I encourage you to try out all the servers including EFTV, Weekly, and NG.

Thanks for playing. New blood is always welcome.

my reply didnt post, wonder why, anyway, met a couple new ppl online tonight, and spammed the living shit out of all my gamer buddies facebooks yelling at them about how i need a fighter and a monk im my party. hopefully some new blood will come around soon, ty vandermast for everything, and gnight guys, cya on later, i might be offline for a couple days, i am currently backing up all my files and getting ready to re-image my computer to run ubuntu 12.4 and winXPsp3 side by side.... because fuck windows 10 in its dirty fucking neck, it was better than the windows 8 that it came with, and its not windows vista or 2000 bad, but its barely above vista, seven is better than 8 or 10 or 8.1 or vista, and honestly win xp sp3 is still to this day better than 7 and it hasent had support releases in half a decade, plus win10 entirely blocks running any linux partition side by side, and i need my deb commands for certain things that i do regularly. but anyway, made some really really good progress on my cleric necromancer assassinhuman on PD tonight, found the most badass venomous crossbow, and i need to catch some ZZZZZZ, btw Kattie ok reg server needs a newb guide, she was askin me questions all night, did my best to answer but told her i was newb myself and i would send her an older head to help her out, also referred her to the manual and the forums....

I went to bed early last night. Was tired. About 8-9 PM Texas Tea time. (Central time I guess). There is a manual to aid a little bit on the main Euotopia Home page, but I'll ink it here for those that are unsure of where to look: Eutopia Manual
