After returning Brandon's musket (confiscated in 2005 LAUGHING OUT LOUD LIKE A MORON) I felt like finding out more about the history of them. This meant going through old chat logs.

until yesterday, 7 survived, and now there are 8.

Who has them now:

Extell still has #1 in the bank
Sandfire has a +8 - origin unknown
Voy has a self crafted DM musket (assuming) diamond +9
Raiden has 2 in his basement - a +8 and a plain one
Mackey has named musket "Death Sentence" using the old naming method - used to be Destroyer's apparently, and source unknown
Sephiroth has a +8 named Flintlocke (new method)
Finally Brandon had his musket, confiscated in 2005 as part of the wipe, returned (now +8, new name method Blud)

egg's boomstick was converted to a laser rifle and then accidently deleted

If guns were to drop, and I certainly wouldn't rule it out:
* they wouldn't be called musket
* or if they were the old musket would be renamed to vintage musket
* their stats would be tweaked so they would be more balanced

I'm going to grab voy's one and stick it in the museum - also gunna start collecting other rare junk and put it in the museum :p and none of it will be hacked / cloned - it will be all legit finds
maybe I'll pay AC or $ for donations o.o

Agreed; a blunderbuss would rock.

Also I think a gunslinger class that wore medium armor would make ranged and medium armor viable in this game.

I would like to see that. A true Ranger/Sniper class with bows and guns would be a lot of fun. Boom headshot from stealth

Perhaps the subclass could be 10/90 str/dex. That way, the benefit of higher ranged damage would be counter-pointed by lower hp. Also, the higher dex may assist in utilizing medium armour.

It's already really hard to get enough HP on a rogue though, before ridiculous levels. The only way you get by is with either backstab and being sneaky, or a foil and shield. If you're using ranged, neither of those is an option. I don't see having even less health as being viable.

I tested it awhile ago, and crossbows have a better DPS than muskets because of how slow muskets are. I don't think people realize just how slow it really is. Also, I miss like half my shots at point blank.
