Shroud of the Avatar

Post by Kodiak »

Hey, while I haven't been around much (I have popped in and out checking things out here and there) I heard of a piece of news that made me think of EUO. As a fan of the Ultima series, and I figure there might be a few out here as well, I found out that Richard 'Lord British' Garriot is crowdfunding a new game, Shroud of the Avatar. I didn't see any posts about it on the forum since it's inception (back in May) and when I found out about it I thought of EUO. While the game won't be out for a little while (Oct 2014, with the possibility alpha build in December) it seems interesting in its concepts, such as being either offline or 'selective' multiplayer, basically meaning either on a public server, alone or privately with friends.
I'm not here to drive people from EUO as I know it's an irreplaceable fixture for many of us (despite my absence of a few years) but some people might find it interesting.
You can find more info on it here:

Bah, I just looked in the EUO general stuff. Ah well, I'm off to bed for now but I gotta take a look at that vid in the morning. Looks hilarious.

That was a great video, thought I might just update you guys on some of their happenings. Post this video the Space Bards(now known as Recap Band) were able to successfully KickStart an album called Neon Milk, I was happy to be a part of it thanks to this video competition from Shroud of the Avatar for bringing these guys to light!

Dom, one half of Recap Band, also did an interpretation of the old Ultima classic Stones written by none other than Iolo - avid R Watson. Check it out:
