Proposal for appointing clans to halls
hall 'takeover'
* lowest scored clan that has had a hall for at least 3 months is evicted from that hall
* that hall is awarded to highest ranked clan without a hall
* when a new hall is awarded a blank template is chosen - the old hall is not kept - it is effectively destroyed
* hall can be decorated / terraformed like a house by level 3 and up clan members
* evictions / appointments happen on the first of each month

I don't care too much what it is - as long as it's transparent so everyone can cheese it equally. Old formula further down post.

* new hall map entrances not accepted - 8 halls is enough
old clan formula
the old formula was this:
score = (unique accounts * average active level ) / average inactivity
where:
average inactivity = sum of all clan member's times not logged in / total clan members
so to maximise your score:
i) increase accounts in clan
ii) increase clan member levels
iii) decrease inactivity - ie keep all members regularly logging in even if just long enough to reset their inactivity to 0
I think point iii could use some revision, indeed I'm totally up for any suggestions on how the clanscore should work.

I could see a group of people cheesing this to the point where they own each hall and keep them locked down so no one can one. Raiden was trying to do that a few years ago by offering to buy clans that had halls.

So no taking old clan items in chests?
Is the crater hole or w/e going to stay on the map? where old mib was? The map itself I have on back up so it don't matter to me what happens to it at this time. But I do love the environmental impact it had on the surface of the world.
Really hoping this also ends up in clan wars and siege attacks. Nothing like a full scale siege to get your blood burning for more.
BTW, what will happen to old clans halls? I take it they go into cold storage like clan sperm cells or something?

I'm over clan wars. I see a repeat of what happened a few years ago and a lot of drama occurring.

That's a tough one. Really depends on the maturity of the base at this time. Had some drama earlier but not on my part. I tried to play peacemaker and hopefully helped. But I'm a crazy SOB so most don't listen.

The old clan scoreboard did breed some drama, mainly with newer clans that used it as a gauge of who was the "best". But it that formula was easily cheesed for a better score. maybe halls can be handed out according to these rules:
* I evict the 'least active' clan according to my own secret formula
* whoever sucks up to me most and/or pays the most money gets the vacant map entrance

You could make a hub similar to Extells portal room that portals people to new halls (keep the current... 8? the way they are). Sell slots like you do with houses, like $20 for an area similar to Nord in size and they can renovate it like a house. Add all tile scrolls to the merchants (addy or gold) so people can customize their halls even more than you can customize your house currently. I kinda like the idea of a limited number of halls embedded into the landscape. Selling hallspace like basements boils them down to a resource hoarding device.

That was actually what FoF said to me. That someone would buy a hall and just put all their shit in there. I just see the halls getting moved around causing a lot of unrest. Imagine the shit storm if Raiden lost his hall. Shouldn't scoring be based on pvp killing and not the max # of levels they have? For example:
Lvl 1 clan kills a lvl 1 guy well that's 0 point.
Lvl 2+ kills lvl 1 guy = 0 point
Lvl 1 guy kills lvl 2 guy = 1 point
Lvl 1 guy kills lvl 10 guy = 9 points
Lvl 1 guy kills a lvl 300 guy = 299 points.
Lvl 300 guy kills.
Sure that could be cheesed also via glass etc...
Maybe that just makes clan wars more of a problem. I also don't see why you can't do a capture the clan flag by sneaking in. We did this in the military between a few units with a mortar shell. The one with the shell was top dog but had to guard it. I know this has been experimented with before as well and it was pretty cool.
With player housing and trailer park housing clan halls don't really need to be storage devices anymore.
I think it might be neat if clan halls had some sort of special crafting chests/devices that produced crafting gear or gold. The longer the stuff is left in the more it produces. The crafting receptacle could also be upgraded if it achieved a certain amount of materials donated.
The kicker is the items can't be taken from the hall. They're used to build the hall. Think of it like a city builder. Wars can take place by clannies of course on these battle/clan grounds and everything is constructible/destructible. So sieges can actually take place.
Make being in a clan fun not just some afternoon kids special.
