This is now the official: We Want Bad Bad Things to Happen Randomly thread.

Most old text based games and even Bard's Tale involved groups attacking you. Low lvls should stay near to Nord and Izumi. Great Eastern Desert has always had rapid respawn and newbs have survived by NOT going there.

I think, if you were to have random bad things spawning, it would be better to keep it more to Tanelorne. What ever character you want to play, you always want to level at Valour first, and there always seems to be some sort of evil fiend that kills you on the way there.

I disagree.

Valour is all strength. What good is strength if you don't have agility?
Its like a super body builder who can't run at all vs a hungry angry bull that has very VERY SHARP HORNS!

Who's going to win?

No competition.

The nearest shrine is Compassion which gives you Dexterity. Atleast you can run away from fiends!!!

It also enforces "partying" which is the heart and soul of EUO (so claims the game description).

Nord has indeed been hit recently. Almost daily now, some town has been sacked!

Great idea, I think random spawned dungeons according to player's level would be bad assed too...short little dungeon with monsters able to be lured

pretty sure this has already been suggested as a great money sink too.

you go to a random dungeon spawning NPC who assigns it to you in a quest/cartography manner. you could just pay a fixed rate for certain level of monsters. or maybe he should give you something like:

Choose from the following difficulties:
Levels 1-10 (2k)
Levels 10-25 (4k)
Levels 25-40 (6k)
Levels 40-60 (9k)
But have the pricings based on how much money one of those level players would actually have assuming thats their first character and they are having to make all their own money. not based on this is some high level's new character who can just blow money without thinking about it.

but anyways, after you buy one of them, he gives you the coordinates and you have to go dig it up with a shovel to reveal the hidden cavern or whatever. it should be kinda soulbound to be able to enter the cavern though so it cant be cheesed. and the only other people who should be able to enter is thru a TP from being in the buyer's party.
