Here's something I've been thinking about for a while that kind of goes hand and hand with my fishing ideas. I give you swimming and drowning.

EDIT - Added a lil bit to the drowning where he bobs up and down to emulate waves or something. worked ok on scgs.

For some reason, I find those drowning animations to be hilarious. Drowning = LAUGHING OUT LOUD LIKE A MORON

Also, the swimming one, imo, needs at least one extra cell for animation. I know the raft is still, but that's because their isn't much to animate for a raft.

Swimming would be an excellent addition to this game, especially if you could do it on ANY map that had water, unlike rafting/boating.

Maybe there is a certain limit to how much you swim,

Eg - more strength = more weight = less distance as muscle doesn't float.

More dex = More distance obviously.

regarding the visible weapons - I've nearly finished engine support for them - just gotta do off hand and review all the avs LM has modified

attached is actual ingame screenshot of equipped labryss, and my collated + revised set of visible weapons for the main hand

well that is the obvious question isn't it?
you would have to just limit it to a few avs that had the same body shape
maybe in a few years

I am really excited about this. I still haven't updated the images of the avs I posted on the forum - sorry. But I uploaded a zip-file with updated avatar images at http://drop.io/euosprites in case you missed my post before - this will hopefully save you some time.

As for the armour, I think different hair styles and helmets could be possible.

I suggested this seven years ago and to be implemented in the same manner and was told it would never happen. I guess hell finally froze over. :)

it pretty much took someone else (lord mort) to do a whole bunch of legwork to get it started
if it was just me it would never have gotten done

Wait, what about the custom avatars? Some of them (I think) won't work with the weapons being separate.

Also, does this mean I should stop work on any monk avs? I had a a few ideas in addition to the one that was re-edited by Keighn.

if anyone that bought a custom av complains I'll deal with them individually
the net gain however is humongous, wait till you see it
