I think buying/selling is considered different from talking.

Problem is you can't talk.....

While standing next to an npc...
/me choking
"Hey buddy lemme help ya out! Chew your food next time!"
Seems like it would hurt the business of the Cure/Heal all merch that no one uses to begin with.
For what it's worth, that Cure/Heal all merchant has saved my bacon a few times, particularly back when it was a lot easier to choke on food. In recent times that homie has also saved me on PD.

i sure picked quite the time to return to euo...

this past week has been one of the single most inactive times i remember seeing the game. most of the time there has been no one on any server at all. for entire days sometimes and even now only me and xojo were the only ones on (i say were because he vanished after we killed blood queen and has yet to return.)

:( kinda sad seeing the game so empty and it kinda leaves me with no point in logging on if i'm literally the only person online.

^Yeah it's inactive right now. The active players haven't done much to help though (not saying that they should be required to).

We have an EUO discord, we can organize. Here are some ideas:
-Organize certain times for group hunts on regular/PD.
-Get a group of people to run through the weekly server.
-Everyone make an alt and join the same clan.
-Make new maps for the game.

I want to play more EUO as well but it is feeling pretty empty. I'm open to ideas as well.

Is there a list of dungeons with epic instances(like epic tangled forest)?

Go kill Lord Brownthorne in Maeondir and then look into his crystal ball.
Then go into the cave above Mino Halls and meditate at the alter to get the Brown Stone.

Alrighty, thanks. It's amazing to see how this game evolved and changed since I started in 2005.

Can anyone confirm that they've gotten a glowing ember drop from a fire dragon recently, and also other fire mobs? Still haven't gotten one from fire dragons yet, I can't be that unlucky. I have updated the manual to remove the reference to fire dragons in the alchemy page.

P.S. I think rates of magic spleen and glowing embers should be increased slightly if all anyone ever does is polypile for them :p

Before I learned about ember polypiling I always farmed at lava caves for embers. The drop rate is really good, and even now I prefer farming fire golems over polypiling.

Basically three areas to grind:

- Random gen lava lake on first level, with lava golems
- Giant room that spawns tons of mobs before ladder (either zorns, fire lizards, or golems)
- black mountain building and basement level.

I just tried now, and easily got 20 embers in half an hour. That was with less than ideal conditions - a small lava lake and no golem room. If the golem room spawns and there's a big lava lake, it's very easy for me to get 40+ embers - just lure a huge throng of them and earthquake. Of course without earthquake and VOG it might be slower.

Thanks Comet. I forgot MR has been reduced on golems. Where's the lava caves again? :D

Also. What ever happened to instanced mining? That was cool.

Is it possible to lose some stat points while respeccing the stats with the certificate? Could someone do the calculation for me how many statpoints I should have when I am level 214 and fully dual classed? Thanks a lot :geek:

Probably a stupid question, but does using a macro program to lvl up stats in NG/Weekly count as botting? :D

P.S. How do you "kick" a statue? Thanks Jaska!

P.P.S. Has a new "weekly" started, or did egg delete my character?

Its a spell/ability like bash, just shift-c and find kick in there. (and/or bind it)

So I tried a mage-fighter on PD just now and noticed that there's no delay when using and then a normal attack, then a spell... I was never really mindful of this stuff but I noticed the first time I tried it and was like "wha..." on my first run on the sewers with a great maul i killed the skeleton mage in like half a second.
maybe there are two different "buffers" for the two actions? is it intended to work like that?

yeh, ctrl-dir attack and all spells (inc fighter abilities) have different cooldown timers

if you're into euo history:
Fighter abilities used to be classed as attacks (code-wise) until about 10 years ago when they became spells for the purposes of an engine fork. I was working on making a post-apocalyptic mod of EUO called EAO which had server-side lua scripting, and all the spells & items became scripted, not hard coded in c++ (you know, separating logic from content, etc). That got abandoned but the fork was merged back into vanilla euo that we have today. Interestingly, Escape from the vault, which was started a new mod of euo in like 2012, shares only ideas and maybe some tiles from the original EAO. The online EftV is more or less what EAO was meant to be.

Quite a few years later I realised ctrl+dir attack and special move (now a spell) had separate cooloff timers, and could be used together as fast as you mash the keys. If I discovered that earlier, say 10 yrs ago, when I was more into stricter classes, I might have 'fixed it' - but it was realised at a time when I was more into 'just have fun already' and 'who cares' about strictness and 'multiclass combinations are actually interesting,' so I left it in.
