Re: Ideas thread 2010
This is more an idea for the community than it is for the game, well maybe equally both:
How about another contest like the writing one, only make it for spriting? I guess we'd have to wait until there's something new to add that needs spriting, though (ie, new classes, monsters, tilesets, etc)
Idunno, just a though.

Re: Ideas thread 2010
Dont know if this has already been suggested, but how about Legendary, Heroic, and Epic versions of DtK. Perhaps where entering the DtK map takes you to a map with 4 instance portals (Regular, Heroic, Legendary, and Epic) Perhaps metamapped... actually definately metamapped...
This is mainly because DtK is a less repetetive version of grinding, used to be popular now its kinda... bleh.

Re: Ideas thread 2010
IDEA! (already mentioned it on chat, but I REALLY wanna see it happen, so i figured it's worth mentioning on the forums to see everyone's opinion on it. It's more public this way)
Egg, with my new electronic reader that I'll be getting for christmas (either a Kobo or any other that can read downloadable pdf's), I'd really like to see the books from the literature competition all put on pdf files and made available for download off of swut - for free or even paid for (?). I'm sure other people would like this idea, too. You could even put a yellowish page background in the pdf files to make it look like an actual book from in game.
And yes, I am still aware that you are planning to release the books into a full published book for sale. But in the meantime, I'd bet it'd be quick to put the books onto pdf files for a more accessible release. I'd be willing to pay addy coins just to read Grue's awesome series (well, not technically a series) or my own Necromancer book + I, Golem duology, and others as well.
Anyone who wants to insert some input on this, feel free.
TL;DR version:
Make euo pdf books available for download whilst working on the full euo book.

Uh... he was worried about copyright issues with the music but not with the published works?

Re: Ideas thread 2010
well... I, golem might need a name change (the title itself is an obvious lift/rip off of I, Robot) before getting published. And although Necromancer can be attributed to Mary Shelley's Frankenstein novel of 1816, there is no plagiarism involved and all work is as original as can get. Don't know the entire story + title for every single other book, though.
Of course, I'm sure none of us players would mind him publishing a book that we helped to form some of the stories with - just as long as the crediting of who did what goes accordingly. Afterall, I'm trying to get some works published myself and would love to put something like Necromancer and I golem 1 & 2 on my resume.
EDIT: I shat together an example of what one page of a euo story in pdf format could look like - hopefully ebook readable. It was made in paint.net (yes, it took a bit to do), and I used I, Golem as an example - but with a different title. I recently got my hands on a pdf creator, so as soon as i learn it, I could make sample pdf's for show.

a tint that regenerates hp
Re: Ideas thread 2010
When in party with 1 or more peoples, anything that drops HAS to be rolled for before it can be picked up. Maybe just in same map or something. Kinda like WoW I think, might stop ppl just ganking items. (dracos suggestion)
Re: Ideas thread 2010
a pet mana/hp/rage indicator over or under your own in your stats display screen.
EDIT:
fix the link on the armoury website so it shows the monk guide in the manual (there IS a monk guide, right?)

Cursed items glow red.

No to you to xDjumpstart wrote:No.Zzapp wrote:Cursed items glow red.
Re: Ideas thread 2010
Not trying to be a douche, but the whole aspect of the curse item is for you to not know if it cursed or not. Now your idea would be okay if it was already identified as a cursed item. But otherZzapp wrote:No to you to xDjumpstart wrote:No.Zzapp wrote:Cursed items glow red.
