Necromancers are a blade-wielder sorcerer-commander of the undead!
They are live on all servers! I got them done in just under 2 years! Well, since bonecrafting is not finished yet, then they are technically still not done :fp:

They were a subset of mage but are now fully their own distinct class with 3 skills: Necromancy, Hexblades and Bonecrafting.

If you want to make a Necro then you will have to roll one from scratch: there is no conversion process. Or of course you can trimskill ;-)

Talk to the lich in the newbie jail to get started on collecting your Necromancer spells!

Necromancy Spell List
CIRCLE 1 :skull:
Summon Undead - C1 - Kal Corp Xen
The higher your skill and the more you cast this spell sequentially, the more powerful your summoned undead allies become

CIRCLE 2 :skull: :skull:
Dark Ritual - C2 - Corp Wis
This is the hexblades version of 'bless weapon'' : it will take a longsword, scythe, rondel or kryss and convert it into a hexblade (see below)

CIRCLE 3 :skull: :skull: :skull:
Soul Transfer - C3 - Mani Por Tym
Drains life over time - exact specs: target loses 5% of health per sec over 5 sec, caster gains 5% per sec (% of own health, not target) - both caster and target are frozen during transfer

CIRCLE 4 :skull: :skull: :skull: :skull:
Corpse Explosion Aoe Curse - C4 - Flam Grav Corp
AoE mass curse that curses targets such that when each target dies it explodes - inflicting damage on everything within 3x3 square (like flam grav)

Ritual Sacrifice - C4 - Corp Mani
Cast this on a corpse to give yourself a +50hp buff for 30 mins

giblet golems AoE curse - C5 - In Corp Kal
AoE mass curse that curses targets: such that when each target dies, it turns into a bunch of body parts which become aligned to caster

Command Death - C5 - Sanct Corp
Any player that has this buff cast on them will automatically resurrect after dying! Lasts for 10 mins. (it is not a PD preventative, and cannot be cast on self)

Death Missile - C6 - Corp Por
clone of Grav Por, but with the strength of Vas Flam

Cone of Acid - C7 - In Corp Hur
Clone of IFH, but inflicts disease on all targets, reduces victims MR and Def by 25% ...

CIRCLE 8 :skull: :skull: :skull: :skull: :skull: :skull: :skull: :skull:
Hail of Bones - C8 - Corp Yelm
AoE DoT high damage spell

About Hexblades
Hexblades consist of 4 weapons: the Athame, the sickle, the stiletto and the kris, and created by casting a Dark Ritual spell on an equipped longsword, scythe, rondel or kryss. Here is the conversion table:

* longsword->athame
* rondel->stiletto
* kryss->krys
* scythe->sickle

All non artifacts will convert, and convert back. There are no artifact hexblades at this time :cry:
All hexblades use the 10/90 STR/DEX ratio for bonus damage... so point points in Dex for bonus weapon damage, INT for magic and STR for hp as needed

These weapons have the same stats as their unritualised parent, but are slightly faster.

BUY THESE AT THE UNI!
You can also use the 'special move' generic ability to cast apprentice special etc, as for the fighter specials.

black lightning
It's blood bolt, but intelligence adds damage

healing bolt
It's a reverse blood bolt, that leeches health and restores yours: doesn't do as much damage as black lightning of course

Giblet golems need work: bit OP/laggy etc

How long does command dealth last?

For bone crafting:
When butchering corpses chance of finding things like Dragon skull, crocodille jaw, imp wing and troll spine.

Also undead should have a chance of dropping living/animated skulls/bones as a material.

On PD I sacraficed my necro to see if I could "kick the cat" to get the circle 4 spell. Nope, I died. (or is there a way to do this without getting zapped?)

Casting Dark Ritual successfully a couple of times with a kryss equipped, and its not changing Nevermind, its working now. Weird. The animation for Dark Ritual is cool. Also, post bugs related to necros in here or bugs thread?

But nah. Excited for this. Course, Has to be weapons i don't have a lot of though. Oh well. Been waiting for this since day 1!

Just tried out a necromancer. I liked it so far. Here's one thing that occured to me: In general, when clones and summonings get the kill, the caster doesn't get xp. Neither does he complete a quest, when he doesn't get the kill in person.
Maybe that should be different for necromancers, as walking around accompanied by an army of summoned undead is kind of their main attack, isn't it?

Soul Xfer should probably have a success rate based upon int. Reason being - Very easy to kill a 2x2 blood lord (at lvl 10, not that i've tried but I did kill a 2x2 heroic black like this) if you sit there and spam the spell while someone of a higher lvl kills him... Hence, making this extremely cheesable.

I haven't tried Necros yet but they sound awesome. Command death will make them really useful in parties.

Suggestion on damage ratio for hexblades - 50% int, 25% str, 25% dex would make sense and make their stat builds less strange.

With Necromancers having hexblades, I keep imagining them as a character from League of Legends named Kassadin; he isn't a necromancer, but still a blade wielding mage.

They remind me a lot of the Realms of Fantasy p&p rpg there was a class called vermitic warlocks that had similar blades usually a two-handed sword.

I'm game for some League.

Back on topic, do Necromancers gain AC with any armor class? I've tried heavy and medium to no avail, but haven't gotten a chance to try light and ua.
