First of a couple "Hero Class" ideas I've had floating around my head. Mostly uses existing coding so not hard to implement.

Duelist Hero class
Starts at level 100

Use "Energy" combination rage/mana resource. Starts full (100) recharges slowly, regen increased by normal melee attacks.

Skill: Dueling
-Gives spell "master weapon" (dark ritual/bless)
Master weapon soulbinds equipped one-handed melee weapon. Becomes "Master Weapon" (Master Longsword, etc). Stat ratio becomes 90/10 dex/str adds and +1 for every 10 levels in Dueling up to +9 to said weapon.
-Bumps by using Master Weapon

Skill: Bravado
-Adds attack strength and dexterity multiplayer to armor class and magic resistance when Mastered Weapon equipped and no other weapon in offhand (shields/orbs allowed).
-Bumps by using Master Weapon

Ability: Kick
-cost 50 energy
-Prevents casting for 10 seconds (throat chop).
-Effective on Undead
-30 second cooldown

Ability: Uncanny Dodge
-cost 50 energy
-untargetable for 3 seconds (phase shift)
-5 min cool down.

Ability: Pistol Shot
-cost 50 energy
-high cooldown (1 min) ranged attack that does 3x Master Weapon damage as ranged to single target.

Item: Crimson Flask
-Reusable flask that restores 50% hp and grants regen for 10 seconds. 3 min cool down.
-Triggers yellow potion cool down on use

I dig this, reminds me of Outlaw rogue from WoW.

Maybe have this as a sub class of rogue.

Too many cooldowns, maybe add combo points!

Outlaw from WoW and dex fighters from 5e were my inspiration. Not sure how combo points would work. Still needs more abilities

I think Aion did sonething similar as well as quite a few other MMOs. I consistantly combo'd on Aion depending on class along with chaining. Lot of button mashing and hotkeys. Funny how eventually you could combo forever just about. Hit-locking er stun-locking was cool too. Some was actually timing.


Lot of pissed of PVPers too at times from being locked.

Yea the last ability made me think WoW.

Combo points would work like WoW, build and spend. They could be called something else. This is completely random and I don't think EUO has this baked in.

More abilities..
Cheap shot
Wild Slash (aoe cone?)

This ends up sounding a lot like a foil rogue.. what about a stance to enable these skills and play style? Maybe a rogue quest line to unlock or something.

I hate that ability so much. I always favored the SnD style.

Then again, combat just isn't the same as TBC LAUGHING OUT LOUD LIKE A MORON.

A stance might be a viable alternative to a new class.
Dunno how people would feel about a tanky rogue, though. Unless it was usable by all classes...

Dueling Stance
Requires one-handed melee weapon equipped in main hand and no weapon equipped in offhand.
Reduce attack speed by 25%
Allow parry/riposte/dodge.
Increase party/riposte/dodge chance by 25% for foils.
Add Attack Strength and Dex modifier to AC and MR

Should be able to dodge dual wielding I would think. Obviously i have triedwith shield either 100% block or 0%
