Re: Creating New Monsters
I remember I made some blood water falls and slime falls but those might be only in Oregon now. Option would be blanking of avatars and recolors for melding. I remember shadowplay or /we his name was loved to recolor (and a lot of games do this since they like to recycle pics). The morphing is pretty cool. I don't think everyone here uses 32x32 for all their tiles yet. has anyone experimented in the 64x64 range?

Sorry haven't seen your post until now - I will make make a gif of it later.Keighn wrote:You need to post animated gifs again. ITs always impressive.
Anyway, If anyone feels confident with numbers I would like to encourage you to post possible stats/spells/abilities for the various mobs posted above. This may help Egg to make them default mobs for the game and I might use those for Town of Lost Souls.
Re: Creating New Monsters
I have a solid understanding of EUO monster stats. I created some stats for monsters to transition from EftV to EUO. Anyways, you can def. use them or modify them to your liking, they're in the Apoc. New Sosaria thread.LordMortiferus wrote:Sorry haven't seen your post until now - I will make make a gif of it later.Keighn wrote:You need to post animated gifs again. ITs always impressive.

Re: Creating New Monsters
Just came up with two more hybrids as I was communicating with 1:
0x4213212
0x4299202
@egg: shadow mages/warrior do not align correctly with blood mages/warriors
From top to bottom:0x4213212

Re: Creating New Monsters
Lord M. reminds me of an evil doctor, stitching together monsters and having a blast while doing it.
Those shadow warrior + shadow imp/shadow daemon hybrids look amazing!
The imps with goblin feet make them look... busty ahem.

Re: Creating New Monsters
Those are sweet, the dragontrolls would look particularly menacing as a 2x2.

Thanks guys.
Here are two more less good looking hybrids.
First crabclaws on a daemon: And the best I could make using a nixie:

Re: Creating New Monsters
Monsters hybrids with items:
0x8134255 -- wisp with skull
0x8134212 -- spider with skull
0x8134213 -- bat with skull
0x410e212 -- spider with brazier (wtf)
0x4407212 -- spider with brain
Note: 0x4000000 is the official code for hybrid (half/half), and I guess 0x8000000 is the official code for custom heads (item drawn over avatar sprite)
I think the wisp and bat with the skull look good, the rest is mediocre imo.

Here are two more:
0x8401213 -- flying eye ball
0x8134202 -- skull gremlin
Well the skull could align better with the grinning gremlin0x8401213 -- flying eye ball

Re: Creating New Monsters
Hey Lord M. All of those are really interesting! My favorite is the spider with the top part of a brazier.
It actually gives me an idea, how about a spell or flame arrows that lights enemies on fire? It could be a mix between % damage and set amount of damage (IE a mix of bleeding and poison) over several seconds.

Re: Creating New Monsters
Just figured out that the 0x8000000 base code is good to combine various mobs.
For example:
0x219: deamon
0x252: rogue
0x207: ghost
0x8252219 rogue with daemon wings
0x8219207 daemon with visible weapons (alignment is a bit off though) - that is the only way to get weapons on a daemon at the moment. Imps, shadow/blood warrior, zorn should also work - I used 0x207 "ghost" as the background sprite because it is small and has no feet that can be seen below the foreground sprite.
Edit: Adding wings to avatars sounds like a good idea to make abuck buckazoid or two. Add some wing sprites in different color variations and sell them in the addy shope.

0x219: deamon
0x252: rogue
