A tip about Jira:
When Jira starts to glow, it will be held for some (3-5?) seconds before it uses Atomic Ray or Nuclear Blast. In theory when you go invis and move away from Jira, it should not be able to hit you.

since golems are massive and oversized bastards, can they dual wield 2h weapons? that could make them a major good perk. since they can't use pots or anything else.

Are those alpha pets coming to other servers someday :o

I would love to see some other pets than red and black dragons.

As far as i remember when tryin them, they get more hp than dragons since they dont evolve and "lose" 25levels worth of hp, other stats seems to stay pretty close to dragons, and now that all dragons have 400spd from drake the other ones still stay as the original speed, like gobbo shaman has spd 700 which is pretty darn slow but keeps them balanced for not being able to heal you 3times a second

Couple of things about the pets:

First of all, can't wait for it to go live.

Secondly, a little diversity in stats couldnt hurt. Is there a way to make the stats increase proportionately to their base stats?

If this goes through Golems could use a little love too. Maybe give Golem Manuals to teach them Flurry/Thunderclap or battle cry?

A rare Artifact golem would be cool too. Just sayin.

I was tentatively concluding that a) the new pets are too good, making drags too unattractive, and yes b) they are all pretty samey - so maybe not quite back to drawing board, but not in a hurry to move off alpha

I had completely lost my alpha notes per pet type.

Tbh, alpha needs a /command to

/evolve
/setpetlvl##

This makes it easier to compare pets strengths.

/evolve should be put up for all servers imho. This way you can have a lvl 75 imp or devil.

Evolved pets should go back down to level 1 if this new pet system is in place. Its not hard to level up your pets some more and you'd get more mileage out of them.

Chuck in basic pet equipment amplifiers besides the wands (been gone over).
I'd place equipment in a few categories:
1 hp boost equipment
2 defensive gear (raises def, MR, & varied resistances)
3 AS/damage gear.

Its the only three you really need unless you create

4. Reflective/spiked gear that reflects some damage back to attacking mobs.
5. Homing/attractant gear where the mob is constantly getting the agression (whatever the term is damn my old fart brain)
6. Doubt stanky stinky gear where they run away. SKUNK gear.

Another note on dragons...
1. Maybe ice dragon evolution included since you can get fire.

Maybe a higher evolution except we only have shadow, bloods, glass, void..

So in lieu dragons evolve into hybrid status (can't recall what that means tbh but they get nasty).

Or....
Green --- Emerald Dragons
Blue --- Sapphire Dragons
Red --- Ruby Dragons
White --- Diamond Dragons
Black --- Onyx Dragons
Fire --- Magma Dragons
Ice --- Crystal Dragons

Eh... Its a thought.

What if a Pet's stats automatically get ranked in comparison to which is closest to a dragons counter part. Give each stat a flat % increase up until a cap which is determined something like this:

The first closest stat gets limited at 120% of dragon value
The 2nd closest stat gets limited at 110% of dragon value
The 3rd and forth stats are at 100%
the 5th stat is limited at 90%
the 6th at 80%.

For this example I ignored speed because I think that should just be flat.

Granted this would be a cap, so that doesn't imply that every stat a pet has will hit that cap, it also doesn't imply that a pet will have any stats that will hit that cap.

Now that i think of it, alpha pets would be way too easy to get and have similar stats with dragons. Maybe "fuse" 2 peta into one. And use dragons to get better stats for other pets. Red dragon for good int pet, black dragon for tanky pet etc.

Like drain a dragons soul and make a potion of it and make yer rat swim in it to gain stat boost

mackey posted in ideas thread something like 'avatar scroll for pet' - which basically just changes the pets looks but keep the rest

however, to use shino's drain soul idea: one could

* simply use that to apply the dragon stats verbatim to your rat (which is essentially, apply the rat avatar to your dragon) ((simplest))
* make more annoying by moving one stat (in seq or random) at a time (would let you customise a litte)


also maybe with higher levels now on reg/pd drags could evolve again, as keighn suggested, but that feels like later job

I mean if you're looking to implement shino's idea because of his fear of it making OP rats easily available, he over looked the fact that the stats scale with your taming skill. By the time your rat would be OP, you would already be able to tame better pets.

If you're looking for that type of change because of immersion, I think lvl based stats is the better choice, not that the xfer wands/potions couldnt supplement that.

I think if something tries to poison you when you have cactus reflect (atleast as a skeletun), the alpha server kicks the bucket. Had it happen with a snake and a spider and once in fort grunthos, maybe some other status effects cause it too?

ya know egg, you could always just leave pets base stats as they are, and let them level farther.. just a thought, if they get 2 in their primary stat, and one in both secondary's (str/dex/int) a dragon at lvl 150 would still be far stronger than a goblin. but the goblin could actually fight. maybe even make taming the exp gain modifier, take a max of 10% of player exp past 100? something like that. they need something to make pets more attractive, anything past 300-400 they don't do anything for you.

*what you might even want to do.. its a thought, make the max level 100 and don't give the pets any stats previous to that

at 100 give players the option to "Remort" there pet to lvl 1
leave pets stats as they are but...
When a pet remorts give it (100*n) primary and 25 to secondary's (like a player) but ontop of its stats.
Each level would give (2*n) primary stats and 1 to each secondary
Exp would be gained at base*(.25^n)
where N is the number of times the pet has been reset (from 100 to 1)
pets would take a maximum of 10% of a players exp after deciding to advance them.

this would make people be interested in other pets, and keep dragons at the top of the food chain, plus it would give max level players more to do, (since even at 400+ all we have to do is grind atm)
