ok good

lets keep talk about new races that aren't currently on alpha
ie, dwarf, golem and undead chat go in the alpha thread
anything else, especially shadowfolk being underperked, goes here

Wait, so you WANT more people to complain about shadowfolk? eh.

Canine - Basically like werewolfism

+15% Dex
+25%AS when UA
Eats corpses for a full heal
Can smell people / monsters (Like infrared)
Racial Ability - Sprint - Teleports in the direction facing for about 15 squares, Can not go over water/mountains etc.
Start off with 50% in UA (Possibly too high)

Basically a monk class.
_______________________________________________________________________________

Birdmen (needs a better name)

Racial Ability - Flight - Same as Drakeform except you dont turn into a drake :)
+20% Dex
+5% Str
Eagle Vision - Automatically has full nightvision
On a search to find the meaning of life... Oh wait, to get to level 450!

Shadowkin:

Scrap shadowmeld, its easier to run and hide than it is to shadowmeld and hope for the best. Replace this with a dodge that can dodge physical (maybe magic) depending on the lvl of light surrounding them, or a Shadowmeld that acts like phase shift.

Scrap +2 NV and give them full NV. To make up for this, have the day light be somewhat blinding to them. Daylight for them should be like nighttime for everyone else. Maybe instead of the screen fading to black tho it can fade to white?

o.O... Makes sense. Although.. Perhaps Shadowmeld turns you into a shadow warrior? or Golem (Seeing as mort made a killer shadow golem av and it would be a shame for it to go to waste)

I like eclips idea about full NV at night and at daytime it is like blinding for them... (perhaps should be similar to +3 nv or something?).

Shadowmeld would be useful if reveal didn't work on it and you could move around.

I see a lot of this full nv idea. Gotta say its pretty cheesy. Now I've seen some complaints on pd about bloodkin as since their bonuses were changed to AS instead of bonus to longswords. Personally, bloodkin seem fine.

Shadowkin, depends on the server. On pd the bonus to ss/bows is nice if you want to dual with a priest or something for better full heal. You're boned on your stealth if you go that way and your traps/locks. Shadowmeld is barely even useful. It'll save you once in a while but you can't move. You can't even med to regain health or mana for possible escape. I think you can stand there indefinitely though if you make no action.

Quick idea about shadowkin, Maybe the further it gets from a full moon the stronger they get in some way? I'm not sure how the moon scale goes but with each passing phase further from a full moon they could get a better bonus, and of course if its more of a full moon they'll be weaker.

If not that then maybe the light they are in directly effects their abilities, pitch black and they are at their best, the brighter and they lose those bonuses.

Sorry for the double post but I just thought about a class idea -

Spirit/Etheral being.
-20% physical damage taken.
+20% Magical damage taken.
Racial Passive - Can't get Res sickness.

Maybe some type of equip penalty? I mean...They aren't completely tangible.

Ethereal Spirit would be a will-o'-wisp correct? Atleast I think that's what the graphic should show for it.

Hellbeasts-
50% fire damage taken.
Slightly faster rage gain
BR effect added onto with Cursed gear, no penalties for curse.

Shadowkin-
What If you reduce the radius they need to hide by 2 tiles or decreased monster's ability to see them by two tiles?

Half-Giant
Throws Boulders

You could go with 1/2 Genies to represent the elements:
Genasi of Flame
Inflicts 50% more fire damage
Inflicts 50% less cold damage
Takes 50% less fire damage
Takes 50% more cold damage
Attack has chance of fire dmg
Slightly faster rage gain

Genasi of Wind
Inflicts 50% more lightinging damage
Inflicts 50% less earth damage
Takes 50% less lightning damage
Takes 50% more earth damage
Attack has chance of lightning dmg
Slightly faster rage gain
Genasi of Earth

Genasi of Water
Inflicts 50% more cold damage
Inflicts 50% less fire damage
Takes 50% less cold damage
Takes 50% more fire damage
Attack has chance of extra damage
Slightly faster rage gain

Genasi of Earth
Inflicts 50% more earth damage
Inflicts 50% less lightning damage
Takes 50% less earth damage
Takes 50% more lightning damage
Attack has chance of extra dmg
Slightly faster rage gain

I might have my elements a tad mixed up. EUO doesn't actually have the normal elemental attacks with no earth or air raw magics.
Fire = Fire
Water = Cold?
Air = Lightning
Earth = ??

Yeah that'd be pretty nice for shadowkin with maybe a +15% to hide in shadows

i've heard that it has been requested time and again by many players that the ability to become a vampire be added to the game. but if you're not willing to do them like werewolves, as a curse, then how about a race?

strengths:
gains 10% all attributes and skills after dark
all attacks are automatically vampyric (no need to wield vampyric weapons)
have their own skills/spells such as levitate, compell(force npcs to do business with you), terrorize(cause humanoid mobs to flee), etc.
no criminal status after dark(the character charms the guards so they don't attack)
x-ray vision and full night vision
immune to poison, disease, sleep, and paralyze affects
no resurrection sickness
faster healing/HP regen.

weaknesses:
loose 30%-50% all attributes and skills during the daytime
criminal status during the daytime(sunlight reveals a vampire's condition)
sun damage (but can shelter inside windowless buildings, such as the entrance area to the to the nord sewers)
extreme weakness to fire, silver, blessed weapons, and werewolves(a werewolf's bite is instantly fatal)
when killed the vampire can't resurrect, but instead respawns in a crypt the next night when the sun goes down(but can be resurrected by others with resurrection scrolls)
vampires don't level up normally; they most go to a crypt and sleep a full day to level up.
take damage or die instantly when they enter shrines

needless to say, these are only some suggestions, i just hope you will seriously consider them.
* angelus (52) Mage/Priest
* Jeremiah (36) Rogue
* Angelus (27) Rogue
* HunterAlpha (24) Fighter

coming soon?: Warren, Monk.

I'm just thinking on these:

Cyborgs:
10% Strength
10% Dexterity
Extra Nightvision(Mechanic eye)
Weak to poison.
Low MP and High HP.
After talking with Max, you can choose either 20 skill in:Long or short swords, maces and polearms

I think i still have to add more things. But that's enough(or not) for now :D

Note:I don't think this is going to be on the game, since it is like a fighter, but with some boosts. It is just an idea :roll:

I kind of like the idea of choosing a bonus %. I think tactics and the shadowkin bonuses are too low IMHO. Ideas are great. Pity they're never implemented and tested more in the Alpha server. Shitty ideas can get nixed and other ideas can be refined. Otherwise we're just passing gass in the wind hoping for some immaculate conception to happen.

Cyborgs - Bad idea, as EUO is more medi-eval based, It would turn everything around, people would have machine guns for example.

Perhaps -Marionette, Same idea as a cyborg, except made of wood, painted, and controlled by the person behind the screen. (Think of pinochio w/ someone's hand up his ass)
