Ok, the other sea races were a flop... how about...

Squidman - the result of Kraken pulling people into the water and having its way with them. Gad what a naughty and nasty beast. But alas now we have the squidmen who's touch is poisonous and can squirt enemies blind. What's worse is they can snare others similar to the monk ability. And of course they are right at home in the water.

Much better than crab man who just has a huge AC, swims in water and once in a while summons crabs to his rescue like aquaman does. Crabman also has natural pincer attacks that inflict far more than a normal fist. He is also a dual wielding freak. Careful, crabmen like to submerge themselves in the sand at times then pop-up from behind ya and hold you with their claws.

Sure beat a my-little-seahorsie peson.

Hippomen just eat a lot and always get hungry 2x as fast as others. They belch nasty clouds of stench and everyone takes off from em. Sure they look good in a suit and often become generals wielding their little pirate pistols but when it comes to going through the door well... let's not go there. Hippomen are just tough and have a ton of hp considering they ignore pain and a lot of girth. Due to their odd metabolism food and magical effects seem to have 2x the length of time it affects them.

Nixies are annoying little twits always throwing their javelins at you in the worse possible circumstances. Sure the chicks look like mermaid but they have foul tempers due to the males always taking off and leaving the dirty dishes in the sink and the baby nixies full of sugary snacks. Nixies are very magical and everything the do has an AN Mani or grav por attack attached to it.


Sharkmen - well they're fast in the water, love to chomp on you with their jaws-like mouth and blood sends them into a frenzy. During any melee they will also bite with their teeth for a possible 3rd attack in the case of rogues.

I thought I might enlighten everyone on why there will never be elves in EUO... they're too bloody deadly is why.

got tired of looking through the thread so apologies if some of these are already mentioned. i think elder scrolls had crab men, i never saw them all that often (found some rare armor from them in morrowind), called Dreugh or something >.> anyways, they were always rather hostile but if not as a race then this could be a idea for a new sea monster that could provide crab meat (where the heck do you even find that stuff anyway, aside from the crabs the giant one spawns?)

a few others could be sub species of existing ones like say, elemental draconian (random element upon char creation perhaps) with resistance to its element and have its drake form take on a fitting color. uh...not sure about dwarves but maybe deep dwarf or something, i dunno

then theres... elves (hormal, high, half, drow, theres a bunch of possibilities there), beast folk? (would obviously require new sprites and all but could be things like gnolls, kobolds, or lizardmen maybe? and besides, just how common is that as a playable race in games these days?). technically vampires and werewolves already exist and could be considered different races >.> um...what else...hmmm... centaurs? (bonus to polearms and/or archery with movement speed of horse mounts?), and that seems to be all i can come up with at the moment.

actually the beast folk idea could be further expanded upon somewhat i'm sure. fantasy allows a LOT of possibilities for races like that hippoman idea (keighn) o.O bleh, i'd imagine those would be somewhat sluggish far as movement speed :/ and the merman/maids

for your squidman idea, keighn, i have a suggestion: instead of a playable race, reserve that for if we ever get a event/dungeon/land/etc. related to chaos or cthulu >.> as it'd be rather fitting with the ensuing madness (squidman...ugh, my mind...the horrible ideas and imagery >.< why?!)

Well, with all my Zorn/Xorn madness lately they might be up for becoming a race. Hey, depending on how you look at it they got either 0-3 arms. And that mouth.. hubba hubba hubba!

skeletun and vamps r there, how about Celestial ?
angel wings ability to fly for 6 secs
25% more damage on hellspawn
silver armor give vamp resistance (5% per piece)
gold weapon does 50% extra damage vs shadows , goldarmor give XC resis (5% per piece).

divinity bonus (like 15% more of casters lvl)

i forgot the drawbacks:

Only half of mana in underground
Divinity cant go under 20% , (starts with 20%).
25% more damage taken from hellspawn.
no Blackrock bonus,

attacks up to 4 directions at once if there are 4 adjacent mobs.
can equip up to 4 one handed weapons weapons or 2 two handed weapons or 1 two handed weapon and 2 one handed weapons.
Each weapon attacks a different direction.
cant equip jewelry items (they are too small to have an effect for the slime)
slimes cannot have more than 25 base intelligence
there is a chance that when you die you'll split into 2 slimes.
* one slime will have half of your items and the other will have the other half
* each slime's stats will be half what your normal stats are.
* you will control one of the slimes, the other will be neutral
* when one slime kills the other you are restored back to normal at full health
* if you don't kill the other slime (or something else kills it) you can still res like normal

Skeleton
can't eat
immune to vampy
can dual class like humans

Orc
20% str increase
-10% int penalty
can wear heavy armor with no movement restriction
builds rage at 2x the normal rate
can only be a fighter class
can simply walk into Mordor

I really wrote these up more as a mental exercise than anything else. Some of them wouldn't be practical, might be too hard to implement or are just plain stupid. I just thought it might help inspire other people to come up with ideas.

hmmm that hellspawn idea sounds nice. if the evolutions were optional then as you lvl up you'd basically have a choice of 3 different sub-races (stay imp, or evolve to devil or daemon) and with the different bonuses for each it'd add some diversity to the race.

the slime idea is certainly...interesting but i dunno how well that'd work out. and since he seems to like them, i'll just leave the zorn stuff to keighn.

Zorn Porn? Heh..

Actually, Xorn wouldn't be terrible but man it'd probably have sever armor restrictions.
