I was thinking of a new pet command 'patrol' which would make the pet go back and forth between 2 points attacking any hostiles it encounters - while not following enemies too far from its patrol zone.

Used as follows ( /patrol a ) at one spot and the pet will stay at this spot until ( /patrol b ) is done at another spot not too far away, then the pet will patrol between the two points.

Yes I know you could potentially set it up with more than 2 points...I just dont like posting complicated features.

Pet golems getting a boost to AS, DEF, dmg, MR (for the effort they're barely worth it).

100% Weaponssmith make Sword Golem
100% Armourer make Iron Golem
100% cartography make earth golem (all that digging of earth)
100% Tailor make Scarebear golem (or scarecrow)
100% Inscription make a Paper Dragon

Dudle's patroll idea is pretty cool esp since its a variation on wander.

the pets could also have certain "tactics" in addition to ai, ie lower atk power in favor of higher def or mr

Other pet wands.


Wand of pet intelligence - Increase int/magic damage some odd %
Wand of pet resistance - Increase magic resistance some odd %
Wand of pet strength - Increase attack strength some odd %
Wand of pet defense - Increase its AS/physical damage
Wand of pet speed - Attacks/runs faster.
Uhh.. Thats all i can think of right now. But you can only use one wand. sides wand of happiness. So you use wand of pet constitution, You dont get to use any of the listed above. Use wand of pet itell, Cant use wand of speed. ONLY ONE! :lesson:

or make them rare as artifacts to find so you can use them all eventually. Personally anything you can buy with addy coins you should be able to use in conjunction with others that use addy coins (assuming these are bought). $$$ makes management happy.

I'm investigating pets again and they are pretty cool. I have a few old/new ideas to bring up.

My red dragon doesn't seem all that more powerful than from when it first evolved. The only stat that shows that has gone up is hit points. Do the other stats go up or do they just not register as increasing?

currently: Puff (red dragon)
Level 33+93%, a red dragon, bonded)
758/758 HP, 40 AS, 40 Def, 400 MR, 800 INT, 600 SPD, 5d7 Melee
Not hugely impressive but as base stats go so I keep wondering if they go up or not. Makes having a goblin seem worthless if just hp goes up.

Ideas:
/evovle be a choice so pets can get to lvl 75.

pets that evolve go back to level 1 so they can gain the full benefits of levelling up to 75 (this would really make sense with pets like Zorn who are just pathetic)

AS, Def, MR, SPD, and Melee damage go up accordingly per level (or perhaps a new chart to work out the details - I do love spreadsheets)

New wands for enchatning and purchasing
Wand of Pet Might - Increases Melee Damage
Wand of Pet Speed - Increases Pet Speed
Wand of Pet Defense - Increases Pet Defense
Wand of Pet Fortitude - Increases Pet Magic Resistance
Wand of Pet Prowess - Increases Pet AS
Wand of Pet Skill - Add 1 Spell slot to pet

Naturally there's the ones you can make and the ones you can buy so that'd double the bonuses like the current pet wands.

Perhaps there should be a limit of maybe 5 spells per pet. I think it'd be pretty cool to have a goblin breathing fire or something.

GEAR for pets. Naturally non-human pets should be wearing armour unless there's something special that could be made. So Collars might be the only thing you could give them or maybe sigils as well since those are embedding in the pets skin. Pet sigil maybe?

For humanoid maybe basic stuff like helm, neck, torso, shield, weapon. Very simlar to diablo2 unless you want to have full gear.

Sigfried's Collar of Obedience - Raises pets Def & MR

I want constructed pets to be viable :( Upgradable Golems, separate construction parts, like Blade Golem arms for GMing weaponsmith and some golem armor for Armorsmithing, a few pieces from tinkering and enchanting.

I had almost considered a new skill called "Engineering" for advanced crafting. Requirements of it are 100% tinkering of course. Perhaps I should start a new thread about advanced crafting.
