Orb of Darkness- Cancel's out any nearby light sources (People have to use NV) and enemies have to be 1 or 2 spaces closer to you to see you.

Tis up to egg. It isn't technically a pet but rather a summon so those rules probably apply. I'd recommend a cooloff before a dragon orb summon could be used again.

I like items that have utilitarian uses besides being equipped. So say this item:
Figurine of Cowardice:
Wielded in offhand:
Turns you invisible
Usage: mobs flee in terror as per boiled egg. (when used)

Crystal Snowflake:
+10% Frost resistance
Usage: Cone of Frost explodes from All directions (like a frost dragon) cooldown also say 15 seconds

Flaming Ember:
+10% Fire Resistance:
Usage: cone of Fire in all directions (In Flam Hur all directions) cooldown 15 seconds

Sands of Time: (hourglass)
+10 Paralysis Resistance
Usage: cone of sleep in all directions (in Zu Hur) + AEPs them cooldown 15 seconds

Putride Brain of Defilement:
+10 Poison Resistance
Usage: cone of poison in all directions (In Nox Hur) + disease cooldown 15 seconds

Skull of Mondain: (haha classic item:
+10% Vampiric Resistance
Usage: Casts XC in a radius + VAMT cooldown 15 seconds

Diamond in the Sky:
+10 MR
+10 AS
+10 Def
Usage: Dispel (an xen corp)

*Usage means you have to use it or hotkey the item to use it. Has to be readied to be used.

That'd be awesome for a rogue or sniper. Maybe call it
"Sphere of Shadows"
Stamps out light sources in radius
Reduces Enemy Sight by 1-2
+5 NV

+300 Max load (ie max for VEU)

I begin to wonder who'd want an extra lesser dragon around. Perhaps those dragons summoned should be a higher level or be similar to Heroic Status x3 or Epic status x5 in toughness. That might be OP then and cooloff would have to be much much higher (like once, twice, or thice a day). (cool off 800 maybe)

What if it really were more like a pet then a summon, bound to the item instead of the character.
It could gain XP and level up and everything.

Perhaps, when it dies, there is a cooloff period before you can re-summon it. (instead of using a raise pet scroll, there is just a time period you must wait).

If you trade it to another player, it resets back to a young shaodw-drake.

Hmm... esp if it started out as lvl 1. Remember theres an orb for each type of dragon. And if it could be used in conjuntion to your pet and summons that'd be cool.

So:
xxxx Dragon/Drake lvl 1 (stats as per type) - Levels up (max to 75)
Disappears when it dies (cannot be raised via raise pet) Cooldown before being used again (still say it should be a long time like 800)
Resets lvl if it dies
Log Out
Item Unequipped

Not sure how well that'd be coded thus why I started out with a static no change version.

How about some uber type artifacts like +8 or +9 attack weapons or +6 or +7 defense armor? Maybe have them drop from the blood queen or other really tough mobs.

With the inclusion of Vermilion weapons and that many enchants are either +5 or +7 in AS/Dmg I was thinking that perhaps there should be a new wand similar to the ones that upgrade Vig and Mr.

Wand of Optimization (increases the the AS/Dmg of an Artifact/Enchant by +1 up to a maximum of +9) (crystal coins perhaps)

perhaps with raid bosses ... as mentioned, these are already being considered

I'm going to see what people think of these idea retrofits to artifacts. Some are just so damn generic and a replication of each other it seems like sheer annoyance.

The Leeching:
Leeching Leeches Mana, +3 AS/Dmg 33 lvl
Leeching +1 Leeches Mana, +4 AS/Dmg 48 lvl
Leeching +2 Leeches Mana, +5 AS/Dmg 63 lvl
Leeching +3 Leeches mana, +6 AS/Dmg 78 lvl

Add:

Leeching +5 Leeches mana, +8 AS/Dmg 108 lvl

These three rings need something else to compete with the other rings: change to
Oenishi's Signet Ring +6 AS, +20 Dex, rage increased faster (10%) 60 lvl
Greyson's Signet Ring +6 AS, +20 Str, regeneration 60 lvl
Virgil's Signet Ring +6 AS, +20 Int, vig+10 60 lvl

These 3 necklaces should have something else as well
Necklace of Honor +6 AS, +20 Int, +20 Str 70 lvl
Pendant of Justice +6 AS, +20 Int, +20 Str 70 lvl

Anyone can wear it actually, just without the magic resistance. Why should it need to be an Artifact though ? Maybe require it to be Mythic, since its easy to make a blank set of mithril, but making a set of GOOD mithril is going to take me months, artifacts are nothing but fodder to throw into the creation of better mithril, but if suddenly artifact armor gets swanky set bonuses its gonna be about as useful as a Humans exp boost at max level.

SIGNET RINGS

The current Signet rings are rather underpowered artifacts IMNSHO.
Currently Stats:
Virgil's Signet Ring:
+6 AS/Dmg
+15 Int

Oenishi's Signet Ring:
+6 AS/Dmg
+15 Dex

Greyson's Signet Ring:
+6AS/Dmg
+15 Str

Reconsider this although, I've been told that for their level they are OK (I'm of a different opinion... would make ok rewards for the quests associated with them though)
A small upgrade that makes them at least coveted:
Virgil's Signet Ring:
+6 AS/Dmg
+20 Int
+15 Vig

Oenishi's Signet Ring:
+6 AS/Dmg

I sort of rethought that maybe Oenishi's could be this instead:

Oenishi's Signet Ring:
+6 AS/Dmg
+20 Dex
+Protection (makes sense for rogues avoiding around with poison and various traps)
