Did this real quick - I know that some parts are totally wrong - could not be bothered with changing the greaves.

Anyway, my two cents about hypothetical visible cloths:
1) I do not think this will work on 16x16 sprites.
2) Could be pulled off on a 32x32 sprite.
3) One gray naked avatar for all large races and one for all small. Skin could be dyeable.
4) additional head layer for different races
5) extras like eyes, hair, beard, etc.
6) male/female sprites ?!

edit: damn, just noticed I should have made the avatar female - would have made a nice Shawty avatar with the hally in hand XD

Rough stab at a pig tile, only one frame, downsized from somebody else's 32X32 tile originally.

Here's a possibility:

Buckler -> Small (targe)-> Large (Parma) -> Heater -> Kite -> Scuntum(yet another roman shield) -> Tower

There are lots of different shapes and ones used by other soldiering types I'm not going to mention. Some of these could be used for artifacts.

Reenactment site. I didn't even post the most common usage of bucklers on the forearm while using a bow. Ah, that'd be sweet. These pics were for my own reference as I'm relooking at the shield overlays. Trying to figure out how to draw spiked shields for (gasp) yet another idea.

I was working on a 16x16 version as well but lost my original photoshop file in which I had the flames and different body parts in different layers and lost my motivation to finish it.

Edit: Avatar is fully tintable - ever saw a grey Cthulhu emerging fom R’lyeh?
Edit2: If someone owns the Clark Ashton Smith collected fantasies Vol.1 and Vol.2 form Night Shade Books and wants to sell them cheap let me know =D

so I havent really been feeling the map project Im working on ATM so I started working on some new tiles.

That cobblestone path looks promising, however I believe it would look much better if you skipped the undertile idea and just went with dark brownish(aka dirt) as background. You should also work on the grid-effect a bit.

Ill do that tomorrow and make the actual stones a tad bigger so that there isnt so many of them.

I'll take a look at what I have do some reworking and resubmit them. Any other tools that mimic stuff that would be nice to see a different pic?

My comments:
I did nothing to the BK's toolbox and golem kit. That was a report. If something needs to be done I can try but they're his babies.

Laz's Crates... I edited one as it was a little bit much 2D and wanted to try a little bit of some pseudo 3D. The other is pretty much the same.

Astriarch's pocket knife was reposted by bugbo and all I did was add some more black border to it as it looked a bit weird. Astriarch's woodsman axe was originally posted in a jpeg and that messed it up. I corrected the damage the best I could and reposted as a png.

As far as I know the butcher knife is bugbo's and all I did was rotate it a bit in a typical butcher psycho manner. There was a brownie butcher knife but it had blood splatters and was a little rough.

*Note: as posted originally some people hate all those mimics so the crates were created. I think they'd be neat in a warehouse to be quite honest. Esp breakable crates.

Eh, I finally finished this project even after my 2013 complete deletion. I remade them and a little extra. They probably need some work but checking them animated on the load up screen; they seem ok.
