Note to testers -- Orange pill is the sleeper. Leave it alone.

EDIT: For the sleeping characters, you can log off and log back in again several times to make the sleeper count go down to zero. Unfortunately, if you die the character disappears like the others.

Actually the pills should be randomised each time you roll a new char!

In any case, here is an updated pills.lua that disables the sleep effect

save as, then save it to your scripts directory which is wherever you unzipped the game to

I won it, do I get a prize? :p

That was pretty good, but the step delay is way too low, I was zipping around like a mentalist

AH great it's beatable - you know I didn't have time to actually test it that far? I on;y tested it as far as the caves!

It's fast because it's turn based ! You should be allowed to move fast. I guess it's weird playing an EUOlike that is that fast. Not even my DM mode in euo is that fast and when I logged into EUO a couple of times over the weekend I found it awfully slow.

Also, you can play Escape in realtime - you can edit dat/common.cfg and set turn_based=0 to turn_based=1 - I haven't tried it but that would make it more like EUO

I've been playing this for the past few hours and I'm enjoying it a lot. I've been a big fan of roguelikes, mostly the Angband/ZAngband so it's good to see one with EUO flavor and EUO controls.

Good job Egg. Hope you win!

EDIT: Figured out the song I was looking for. Thanks.

Yeah, it's beatable, and pretty fun. Might want to give Rustavinius a ranged attack - something dealing 20-30 damage should do the trick

yeah, I noticed that, the speed difference from EAO/EUO is pretty jarring. That's why I suggested it might be too fast. I think it's a preference thing, some will want it quick, others a touch more pedestrian - Maybe add a changeable setting for delay? a slow setting which is about the same as top speed in EUO

Yeah, tweaking the turnbased value in common.cfg to 1 makes it play just like EUO.

I did... managed to get all the way to the base and Rustavinious -- then got killed quick... The game is fun and almost feels like it'd be better as a strictly PD environment versus the regular grind. The base also feels like it'd be a good spot for Hide-n-Seek type PvP battles.

Well I support this project, its looking very promising, needs fine-tuning.

I wonder if euo and the spin-off client could be put into a single download when finished.

Killed the :dancecow: twice so far with a mutant engineer :lesson: and a mutant soldier :rebel: . Yeah some of the game mechanics could use tweaking i guess :smoke: , but its fun anyway :bandit: .

Woo grats!!!!!
You get what anyone gets; you get a lifetime.
When the first living thing existed, I was there waiting.
When the last living thing dies, my job will be finished.
Next thing you're going to be moaning that I ought to get a scythe...
