Dwarven PD Diary

Post by Thane »

So i've been around EUO off and on over the years but never really got far. I'm back again and after playing lots of Realm of the Mad God, i got the need to PD.

I'd like to make my first attempt a good one ! I already know to avoid all chests besides boss dropped ones, and to have some o shit buttons, im lvl 42 dwarven fighter, working on pretty much all crafting so far. Are there any killer bugs, death door/portaltraps to avoid, dungeons to never enter, super safe places to be, important quests to do etc ?

All quests are important. You can get past remort on quests alone. Also be sure to remort at lvl 75, as I believe banked lvls get lost in the void. Finish a few high xp quests but don't turn them in until you remort. This will rocket you to about lvl 100 and you won't be as squishy after remort.

Thanks for the Quest tip! I'm only aware of the Lord Percy quest, i was teleported there once but i dont know the way, i'll be exploring a lot to find it (or escorted there by some kind gentle dwarf loving hero)

Any other big quests ? Was the statue for lord byrons wife a big exp one ? i remember it being long and segmented *groan*

Any town guard with a name will give you at least one quest.

Boss dropped chests aren't any less dangerous than normal ones. Always make sure you're at full health when attempting to open a chest if you're not sure of trapped status (I believe that PD chests won't hit you for more than your maximum hp, but I'm not sure).

Think that bosses don't drop trapped chests on PD at least. Don't think I've seen a chest dropped by a non boss, though they can be spawned by maps.

I think you should be able to drop them in a trash can or in your house. Transfer to bank could be possible too but i have not tried it.

huzzah ! I have passed the 75 mark, and unfortunately was hundreds of pounds overweight in inventory upon losing my titan like strength. This lead to a mad crawl through the desert to find lord percy since i couldnt think of any other high exp quests, but 30+ levels later and... im ALMOST even with my weight capacity !

To celebrate my 75th i'll be buying my first res stone and a custom avatar, FOR GREAT DWARVEN GLORY !

Update on my adventures !! My adamantium fishing rod was consumed to bring me a blank pair of dragonscale boots, frankly i dont see what the fuss is all about, its light armor anyways. Luckily i found another Addy rod today, huzzah ! Doing quests, little less crafting now, biding my time for smithing. Oh, and i accidently summoned a GIANT CHICKEN while polypiling some potions.

Lastly, i got my own ship in a bottle, CAPTAIN THANE, AARGGH ;O

Dwarven dairy update ! I've hit hurdles and landmarks, i passed the 200 milestone and have found my first Arty and Enchanted weapon, and given life to my first golem pet (underwhelming)
And finally made it to the other continent that i still cannot spell, but i like it there. And i saved up enough gold to buy my mount, WOW this is so much easier, a horse isnt as good as a bear or griffin but it'll do.

Sadly, i accidently struck a guard in town and was immediatly slain and thus lost another res stone :( even worse, my friend Tymo was killed by a lethal trap at the ripe level of 140-150 :( he had my arty ! I hope he comes back.

Oh cool :D Did you especially like the parts where i got my dumbass killed? $-) LAUGHING OUT LOUD LIKE A MORON im glad res stones are there, accidents happen and its a brilliant model for a f2p game, i just wish there were some badass Dwarf avatars for sale ;);)

Had a couple of really long days in EUO, a lot happened. I finally ventured into Netherterra a couple days ago and went through the entire thing, got some nice chest loot and have been making frequent trips back after finding the quick way to solve the portal/ladder puzzle Image

I have not explored the new lands very much yet, i ventured into the dungeon because i just had to see this giant moth in spite of the kings protests. I found Anathema to be full of the golems i needed to farm for my power crystal, which i eventually got. Cleared out another bridge area that lead to many undead underground, and the third bridge lead to a path of many many dragons, i did not make it to the end though. I've found 3 books quickly in the dungeons of Farimond, funny to read through, A God and his Cat, a book on potion abuse, and a book of cults. Another storyline quest gave me a couple more books, one of great interest to me was the chronicles of the great dwarven city where i was born, inaccurate as it was.

Sure orcs and trolls live there now, but THAT was not what forced us dwarves out, it was Balrons, millions of them ! And after the mighty dwarves killed them all, they were all level 1000 and transcend out of PD, leaving the great dwarven city empty except for us young dwarves who now adventure New Sosaria in the ones or twos.

Great news Egg! I was slain by the phoenix boss Angela atop Blackmountain Tower. The worst part is, i could of taken her had i not become stuck in my inventory while trying to switch weapons, i couldnt get out of it and got widdled down and since i was in my inventory none of my escape buttons worked :( It was too long a trek to retrieve my gold but no journey is too long for....revenge! Eventually.

The last day or two has seen mixed results, leveling has slowed with my amount of time for my journies, crafting has increased and i finally banked enough Blank Scrolls to go on a soultrap rampage to feed my enchanting needs, which is much more effective than kidnapping young Wizards and forcing them to cast soultrap on dragons for me.

I started attempting to raise a Cow as a pet since a kind cookie told me they can become Balrons, and cookies dont lie. After dozens of unsuccessful attempts i finally just tamed a cow and AFK'ed until it bonded, hes level 4 and i have named him Bullron. I found two artifacts in one day which was nice, they always seem to drop off of the lowliest monsters, nothing particularly suited for me as of yet, but i also found a wand of transference.

I failed to fullfil another daily scavenger hunt, i knew i would fail it, heater shield of str +8 ? Weapon dailies i can handle but armor cant be enchanted in a fountain, and as i have yet to find a wand of deconstruction its almost impossible to find the exact armor piece i need, even after hours and hours of grind. I wish i could create a WoD with enchanting.

I went back into the abyss to do some book quest, and this time i set out to finish it, never dared too before. I didnt know how deep it went but i knew after the halls full of dragons and balrons that the end would be worth it.

It was not, thanks for the sign Mr/Mrs dungeon creator, i burned it.
