PD weekly ladder - now live!

BEING DECOMISSIONED MAY 2016 and replaced with all new Roguelike Weekly PD, see this thread:

the new weekly PD ladder - PVP, LOTL and wiped when a winner is declared (checked weekly)

- montly pd ladder is now ancient history, replaced by a new weekly ladder
- the ladder week will start monday at around 12:10am and end sunday, at midnight
- the ladder will be on a new server that will be PD, LOTL & PvP
- IF A WINNER IS DECLARED the server will be wiped & reset every monday at 12.05am, right after the week ends
- the exact time the server starts depends on when the wipe is completed, but should only take a couple of mins to shutdown, wipe and restart
- base xp is 3x for kills
- if the monster you kill was considered reasonably dangerous, then the xp is increased to 9x (there is a 3x bonus for dangerous, so 3x3=9x)
- once you hit lvl 20 then pvp is turned on for you and it can't be turned off
- lotl cannot be turned off LOTL is no longer on!
- there is an xp + lvl penalty for killing a player that is much lower level than yourself
- the continent New Sosaria is now procedurally generated each week
- items no longer have a lvl req
- spells that normally can be bought now also drop

- prize for winning the weekly will be 25 addy coins deliverable to any character on any server
- however if there aren't at least three players that are lvl 50 15 40 on the scoreboard then no winner will be declared!
- NEW RULE: If no winner declared then the server will not be wiped for the week and play continues until next Monday!
- I'll set up a merch on the old pd server that sells res stones for 50 addy coins, so that you can spend your weekly winnings on a res stone if you wish
- to collect your coins, talk to the Delivery Bot (located outside Nordhaven bank) on the server of your choice. Coins can be claimed by any char linked to the account of the char that won the weekly, and on any server!

- all times are in sydney time

- don't ask what constitutes 'reasonably dangerous': as soon as I tell you you will cheese it, but you won't be expected to be fighting dragons at lvl 20 ... it's not that severe

how to play on the weekly PD server
Simply select 'weekly PD' server as the server to connect to when creating a character, or reconnecting.

old way:
i) use the launcher
ii) change the port to 26669 (host is still euo.swut.net)

cool, i like it. sometimes i get a craving for euo, but when you dont play often the idea of successfully playing reg deters me. and when i go to pd for a faster pace, i want to play/win the lotl competition but dont think i'll be able to hold my attention or have the time to play as much as needed for a full month.

i would take part in the weekly challenges though, nice change.

probably none at this stage, or maybe just one that gets passed around - don't want armoury pages getting cluttered up with a bazillion 'chieves now that there are 4x as many of them

Maybe if they have an alt on the pd server then the achievement gets transferred to that name if both are of the same name. (ie. LOTL server Fred wins - achievement gets put on Fred on PD server if fred exists).

If badeges are awarded perhaps drake or green dragon as the badge.

I've ganked alpha server for the time being so I can use the port:

ideas for weekly:
- no lvl req for items
- random generated continent every week, with towns/dungeons/etc placed randomly on the new random continent
- prizes for 2nd and 3rd - eg wot, gp, something else
- penalty for ganking someone lower lvl than yourself - maybe xp penalty or maybe a long debuff
- higher boss/drop rates or maybe non bosses drop boss loot
- old school polypiling for weapons and armour (weekyl server only!!!)

because the server is wiped weekly I can relax any sorta rules regarding stinginess with items due to creating in-game economic disasters

Also a way to cure lycan would be nice! You can't buy the alchemist bench since it's Lotl.

Anyone else notice that phase bosses at the end are hella hard and you get crap xp?
